Could this be implantation? Is this FINALLY my month?!

Hey guys! I'm excited and scared at the same time. I have slightly irregular periods, my shortest cycle was 27 days and my longest that wasn't because of a chemical was 32 days. Today is 9 dpo and cd 24. I know I ovulated 9 days ago because of my temp, my ewcm, and even some blood in my cm (which I read is very fertile).

I went to the bathroom about 5 hours ago and got a splotch of bright red blood (sorry if tmi). That only lasted for a second though. I've been checking now whenever I use the bathroom and I'm still slightly bleeding (only it's brown now). I've also been having very slight cramps ever since even before the bleeding started. It feels like a period cramp only slighter, and I was getting a poking sensation too for a few hours but it has stopped atm.

I've had two instances in the past that this has happened to me. Not quite for this long, each time it lasted only one trip to the bathroom. One of those times I was pregnant (but it turned out to be a chemical) and one time I guess it was just my cycle acting up. I usually only spot for about 12 hours before my period comes on.

My question is: what does this sound like to you? I want an objective opinion and not my own judgement which is just clouded with high hopes! Do you think it's a better chance that this is my period considering I have irregular cycles sometimes?

This happens to me sometimes, too. I'll start spotting off and on just ever so slightly anywhere from 12 hours to 2 days before my period comes on. I've read that it's due to a low level of progesterone toward the end of your cycle - like the hormone levels in your body are trying to keep af from coming, but can't quite keep her away.

That said, 9dpo - it could be implantation bleeding! Has the bleeding stopped yet?

This has happened to me several times, but I never had a BFP. It sure does sound like it might be! Good luck!!

I am experiencing exactly the same. I am 9 dpo. Just been to the toilet and I had CM with a little light pink blood in it. When I wiped I had some light pink / brown blood. I have also got cramps in my left side. I assume af had arrived early. But could this be a good sign?

WEll as a general rule, red blood is not good for preg. pink or brown spotting is ok. I don't mean to be a downer because anything is possible as I have seen in the past. But usually red blood means either af or m/c. So if you are spotting and it is red it is less likely that it is a sign of preg. Like the above post who has pink/brown spotting may be having implant. BUT there are also some people I know that get pink or brown before af so nothing is for certain.

My Mum had bright red blood like a period for one day with both me and my brother so it can be ok. Just thought I'd mention. X

Well yes that's why I said as a general rule. It's very uncommon is all but nothing is impossible. This is just what I have been told by 2 diff dr's and also read. And sometimes too a person just doesn't realize the color is not truly "red" when they say they are having red spotting. Dark red is ok. Bright red is not. Again a general rule.
