Implantation bleeding thoughts and opinions welcome :)

Implantation bleeding baffles me. It always has and probably always will in some way.
I understand the mechanics of it, like what is and why it's happened.
What I don't understand is what it is meant to look like, around about when it's meant to happen and most of all who else has had it?

I am now 5 days late and this morning I started having bloody discharge, then at around 12 it turned into a tiny of redish blood, then at about 5-ish it was alot of red blood when I wiped. 2 hours later it was more brown and as the night has progressed it has gotten browner and browner and I think it has started to get less and less too. Also, I've had what I can only describe as a warm ache in what I would assume is my womb area, with ocasionaly cramps, not painful or uncomfortable, just noticable.
Now my question to you loverly ladies is, does this sound like IB?

Hello,

I had an implantation bleed when I was pregnant with DD. It was a tiny amount of pinkish blood streaked in otherwise clear cm which I noticed on one occassion when I wiped at about 10dpo. It really was a tiny amount and I think it was pure luck that I even saw it.

In my honest opinion it sounds asthough af is playing tricks on you - starting late and a bit unusual...but I would say this is af starting. HOWEVER, I am no expert and that is only a guess.

Fingers crossed that I'm totally wrong!

P.S. Have you taken any hpt's so far? If not, perhaps you should.

No, I'm waiting until Friday when I see OH. He wants to do it with me and although I hate the wait, it'll make me definite when I do take the test. So, no I haven't and it's frustrating me to no end. But I won't be able to until Friday.

My guess is similar to Lois's though I'm no expert. Haven't had implantation bleeding myself - the one time I thought I was it was AF showing up early. My understanding of implantation bleeding is that it happens slightly before AF is due and is a tiny amount and that it's not that common - but I may be wrong. Do know though that one of my friends had a few occassions of light bleeding while in early pregnancy and so while I don't think it sounds like implantation bleeding it doesn't mean you're out this month yet. Have you taken any tests? If not that would be a good idea! Fingers crossed for you!

I've already answered that above you lol and I know, I thought it was a little bit late for IB, but some ladies have told me that sometimes it's late or it is pregnancy spotting. So, I'm hoping it's one of the two but thank you

Oooh actually K123 is right. Some women have a sort of "clear out" bleed that isn't the same as implantation but is basically the uterus saying "right, we've got a baby to look after, lets have a little clear out of old blood"...and you would expect this to be heavier than IB, lighter than af and mostly brownish. I had this at 8 weeks with DD.
