Hi hun

Im new to charting too but I read somewhere that only 30% of women will get a positive opk reading! Also, one of my buddies got a bfp this month and all her opks were showing negative too. If you check my chart (im by no means an expert) youll see that I got a positive opk well before FF is suggesting I ov'd. All im saying is that OPK's arent all that reliable as its so easy to miss the surge and judging by past experience this can throw FF right of course. If i move my OPKs about It totally changes my ovulation day

hope this hasnt confused you more

xxx

Thanks so much for your reply! I didn't know only 30% of women will get a positive OPK, but its great to know because I always thought maybe something was wrong with me and not the OPK's. I started charting this cycle in order to determine my exact OV date as well as my luteal phase length to make sure I'm in fact OV and i have a normal LP. I guess I'll try another brand of OPK's as the one's im using just aren't working out for me and if those don't work I'll go digital. Lots of to you!

Does taking prenatals prior to pregnancy reduce the chances of experiencing early preg symptoms? I keep asking this question on bnb and no one ever answers.

I took Folic Acid while we TTC and I was had morning sickness for 10 weeks. I don't think anything can reduce pregnancy symptoms. Same with some ppl have them others don't.

One question I thought of a few days ago:

Do I need to avoid everything that you should during pregnancy during the two week wait?

I was one of the people that ate whatever I fancied during pregnancy (within moderation, I didn't get drunk and I didn't eat stacks of tuna), and my midwife told me it was safe to do so. because the foods on the avoid list were just in case you got sick. If you get sick during pregnancy, you keep less nutrients in your body, because you may vomit, or your body uses all it's energy to fight the illness. But your baby is the last to suffer, it acts like a parasite, taking all the goodness from you, so you will feel the effects long before your baby will even know anything is wrong. for this reason I ate swordfish etc, but in moderation.

During the 2WW the cells are dividing etc, so it's not beig "fed" as such, and after that, it takes from the yolk sac, so your body isn't directly feeding the baby until about 7 weeks (or later, I don't remember, but whatever stage the placenta kicks in). So you should be fine to eat and drink what you like before you know your'e pregnant. But obviously, if you're TTC, drink within moderation, and try to be healthy.
