I was wondering what happens if AF doesn't show in a particular month. What actually counts as a "missed period" as opposed to a late one? And how would it affect the next month TTC? How would you guess when you were starting to ovulate, besides using OPK's every day? My period is a week late and though she will probably show up at some point it got me thinking.
This is the third time in a year for me that this has happened. My periods used to be so regular; once every 28 days, then down to 27, now they usually vary between 25-27. It has me worried, but then again I'm getting older (35 next month) and I should probably expect more of the same.
Hi, im in similar situation, and no one replied to my post either?????
I am 6 days late but BFN, and just cant understand why AF would decide not to show??
The confusion to me is how do you calculate your OV dates now? If AF doesnt come do you still OV around the same time as you normally would?? Or do you not OV untill you have had another period?
I have booked into docs next week but wanted to try get some kind of explanation before i went.
I know how u feel, hope we get some answers soon xxx
Hi Honeypot HAve you any idea of the reasons for a no show?
The more ive been thinking about this it has made me remember that about 7 years ago i came off the pill for a break (not TTC) and my periods stopped... I had a scan for PCOS but i didnt have that, doc put me on the dianette pill and never thought any more about it!!!!
Cant wait to get to the docs to put an end to this confusion x
Hi there I have no idea what is going on. I got off bc in February, but I didn't have a period while on it for a year or more. Doctor told me that it was normal for that kind of bc. I started getting me period when I got off it. Went to a 32 to 34 day cycle. After m june period, I was late. Had a 40 day cycle that time and now it's at 50. I have no idea what's going on but it's making me mad. I could have had another chance go try for a baby by now but nooooo AF has to be a mega biatch!!!
This board moves so fast I think threads sometimes get lost!
All I can think of is I've either ovulated late, or not at all. If I ov'd late my period should eventually show up but I have no idea what happens if it doesn't. I assume the body "resets" itself somehow? I can't think I suddenly hit the menopause at 35!
Here's hoping the doctors can give you ladies some answers! I'm going to wait it out for now.
Please get the book Taking Charge Of Your Fertility!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
now on to the questions:
Lets say for a moment your cycle is 32 days. Lets say you normally O cd16 and have a 16d Lut Phase, then AF shows.
Now IF you Od early, lets say cd13, your LP would still stay about the same- 16d THEN Af should show. SAME as if you O late- cd19, LP should still stay about the same, 16d, then AF.
If your cycle is 32d and AF hasnt shown after your 16d LP (if you knew you Od), for example, then youre either pregnant, didnt O like you thought for various reasons, or having an off cycle. Your options: Wait for AF, Take Provera to jump start AF.
If you have no idea when or if you Od but your cycle is normally 32d, and youre late, you can do the same as above BUT also go to the doc and et an u/s and bloodwork to see if youve O'd and then go from there.
Sometimes though can just have a weird cycle. Like my cycle that just ended:
30 days, rather than 32. O on cd20, rather than cd16 and only 10d LP, rather than 16.
I am in the same boat unfortunately....I thought I had BFP's but apparently they all turned to BFN's I had blood work today and have an appointment on the 8th of September. I wanna know where my AF went I'm 18dpo and just sitting here wondering about everything......I want those results to my tests to FX for all of you and babby dust to all!
