Sperm Analysis Self Testing Kit

Hi ladies,
DH has expressed an interest in doing a SA test but we don't want to go to our GP just yet. I'm just wondering if any of you have any experience using the self testing kits? Are they accurate, reliable and easy to understand the results? Thanks x

The trouble with the home kits is they only measure volume where the docs test also measure motility and mobility which are as important factors when ttc as volume. You could show a great sperm volume but have poor mobility/motility and this would hinder becoming preggo. The best thing to do is get it done through the docs. x

From what ive heard there not very accurate!, I would just go to the doctors. It takes a little longer to get the results but there garenteed to be more accurate! Its not as scary as you think xxx

Thanks for your replies x

I dont want to go to our GP yet, we've only been trying for 6 months. Would a doc send DH for SA without seeing me? Just to put DH's mind at ease?

Yeah sure... I'd tell him to say you've been trying for a year with no luck b/c most docs don't want to know until a year has passed. x

Several people said this was a good product http://www.early-pregnancy-tests.com/spermtest.html/ I am willing to give this a try in a couple of months if dh wants to. From the reviews, it seems pretty good. This one monitors volume, motility, sperm count/concentration, etc.
