OPK Tests

Ok Ladies, when you do or have done your OPK tests do you always get 2 lines like 1 lighter then the other -negative or are there times that only 1 line comes up and there is absolutely no other line! Ive done the tests the last 5 days and I dont even get a light 2nd line. I dont think I have any LH in my system at all

I have never had any positive results with OPK's. I was thinking WTH am I defective? So I gave up using them. Even though the Blood work my Doc ordered said that I do ovulate. I just have to trust that I am counting my days and monitoring my CM. She instructed us to BD on days 9, 11, 13, and 15.
Good luck to you.

I had to try different brands... first off you always have SOME level of LH in your system... that doesn't mean you will always get a line.
Every woman's non-ovulating level is unique as is the surge she will get before ovulation.

Tests have different sensitivites (they do NOT tell you this on the packages). If the test is too sensitive, it could give a woman with naturally high levels false positives... if the test is not sensitive enough, it might miss the surge all together on a woman with a lower surge.

With First Response tests, I almost never got a line... got some faint lines and then some ALMOST positive lines... I know I ovulated because of BBT charting.
I found a cheap internet brand that worked PERFECT for me... even took one of my First Response tests with the same urine that the IC test gave me a 2x as dark test line.. .and the First Response still wasn't positive!

They can be frustrating to figure out at first, but do work for most women once they find the right brand.

Hope that helps!
