TTC after implant removal

Hi there advice pls

I have currently ttc after having the implant removed. I only had it taken out a week ago. I just don't know what to expect I have never had a problem getting pregnant in the past. I had the implant in for just under 2 years and never has a period during this time, pior to the implant I was as regular as clock work. I'm just so confused at the moment as I've read so many things, sum people saying it takes weeks others saying months even years! I just don't know what to believe!

Hey Hun,

I was exactly the same.

Best advice I can give you is to just wait and see, your body will tell you what is going to happen.

We have been TTC for 18months now but I had a friend who had the implant taken out and then a month later she was pregnant.

It just depends on the person.

Hope this helps!

Much Love

x

Hi Libbys_mum!
I am in a similar position and am glad to see that there is someone else who knows what I am going through. I just got my implant out about a month ago. About 3 days later I had a withdrawal bleed for a few days and started counting a new cycle from then. I tried OPKs and didn't get a positive. It has been very confusing because with a normal 29ish day cycle I expected AF around 9/25, but it didn't come and I got nothing but BFNs when testing. I finally bought some more OPKs, took one and it was pos! Now only time will tell how it tuns out, but I am optimistic that I did at least O. Meanwhile I am on CD 36 of my like longest cycle ever. Seems crazy that I haven't had a period since August. So I am not sure how long it will take to get regular cycles, but I definitely feel that you can be ovulating in the mean time. Heres to hoping for that BFP!

Thank you for your reply's nice to know I'm not alone, I really wish now I had never had the implant fitted I had terrible problems with it! just can't wait for things to return to normal as extremly broody at the moment! doctor seemed to think everything would go back to normal quite quickly, so fingers crossed I'm one of the lucky ones.

Sorry to crash your thread.
I always try to help offer advice for anyone ttc after implanon as there are soooo many bad stories and I know when we were ttc it is very worrying.

However, I had implant out in April, had a withdrawal bleed 2 weeks later followed by full af two weeks after that (so a month after removal) and got pregnant that month.....so not very long at all!!

There were quite a few ladies ttc after implanon implant at the same time and I think most are now in the PG boards.

Temping helped me a LOT, it showed me that I had ovulated which was my main concern...although I only had to temp 1 cycle

If you have any questions, feel free to PM.
Lots of luck and baby dust xxxx xxxx

I had my implant removed in July08, my friend told me all the horror stories in the world...that I shouldn't be too hopefull to get pregnant any time soon cause it could months/yrs to get my period back and actually ovulate.
Oooooooo boy how wrong was she. lol I got my 1st period after 2 weeks, I started using a persona monitor to actually check if I was ovulating or not and if so when. And yeaaaaah I was ovualting, in Nov08 I got pregnant and gave birth to a healthy and very happy baby boy in Aug09.

Good luck hun, I hope it happens soon for you xx

That is exactly what I did, I googled everything and became at little obsessive to be honest...I was convinced it would never happen, but it did and it will for you too.

But after reading all your stories I feel a bit better!!

Waiting for my AF to arrive, using OPK but no luck so far.

To those who are TTC, good luck
To those who are PG, enjoy!!
