21 day progesterone result was low

My 21 day progesterone was low, a 4.0 low in fact, says I proberly did not ovulate. is theer anything I can take or do to make me ovulate? I will be having another test done in next cycle, as tbh I am not so sure if it was taken on the right time, because I think I ovulated on day 15 to 16 of my cycle, well thats when I noticed the first of EWCM, I have read its usually 24 - 36 hrs afer seeing this that we ovulate?? so in theory I ovulated on day 18, so was ony 3 days later I had this test, where Ive read it should be done on 7 days after the O, am I right?? urgh, sorry still learning, lol, anyway, what can i take to make sure I do ovulate and get my LP longer too by the looks of things

I know how you feel. My 21 day levels were 3.3 =(
I was 100% sure I ovulated and still have not had AF, and it's over a week late...but the last test I took was negative. I'm calling my doctor tomorrow.
If you did ovulate day 18 you could've gotten your bloodtest too early and the levels could be falsely low...as 7dpo wouldn't be until day 25 or so....if your AF doesn't show up, test, if not...try again next cycle...I just hope you get a BFP or AF...not like me...who hasn't gotten either...it's REALLY frustrating and annoying!

Sorry if this wasn't helpful...but I do know how you feel

hiya, yes, it could have been too soon after ov. it could also have just been an anovulatory cycle. i had this once, the cycle of my first day 21 prog, and got all worried i wasnt ovulating. but every test since has been fine. so, it could be that and next month may be totally ok.

gl x

Just be careful with the OPK's as a positive OPK doesn't mean you ovulate. That is the mistake I made as every month I got positive OPK's and then I had 6 cycles of blood tests that suggested I don't ovulate. My FS said the OPK picks up the hormone surge from the pituitary gland which tells your ovary to release an egg - so the fact the OPK is positive means the pituitary gland has done its job but doesn't guarantee ovulation

Bloody rubbish - I spent ove 120 in total on OPK's to discover they had just given me false hope!!!

Hiya MrsLukey
I understand where you are coming from, I had a longer chat with a diff GP yesterday, as I had an app about a diff problem I am having, he said that having a low Progesterone does not actually mean I didnt ovulate at all, I could of ovulated at the right time for the test to been taken, it could be I just have low Progesterone, which many women do, and yet still go on and get pregnant even more confusing isnt it but saying that, he did say, if i get a peak or a high on the cbfm and i get all my other signs such as ewcm etc it looks good that i do, he also said the ONLY true way to see if someone is not ovulating is to do a follical ovulating scan tracking which they do once under a FS, this is the only fool proof way of saying if you dont, I cant really offord to see a FS,Not that i have had any quotes for one yet, but, I dont meet the nhs criteria for help, its my age, and also I have children already. I am now going to start taking VIT B and EPO and may start on some of that natrual Progesterone cream you can buy, see if this helps me. thanks for the advice tho xxxx

Hello Ladies,

Iv had low progesterone for as long as i can remember, i was told 7 years ago that low progesterone and polycystic ovaries (not the syndrome) will provent me from conceiving naturally, after only 2 months of hearing this news i fell pregnant! i had an easy, happy and healthy 9 months even though i was told i would more than likely have a m/c due to the low porgesterone, now we are TTC baby no 2 (6 years later) and its a little bit of a struggle so decided to take vit B6 half way through my cycle (little bit of a after thought!!) and as you can see from my chart it was looking very anovulatory right up until the B6 kicked in.....my temps settled down and i ovulated, confirmed by temp dip and massive temp rise to 37.0 this am...its never ever been that high!!
i now finally feel like things are settling down...just my cycle lengths to address next cycle using Soy.
to top it all off my partner has low sperm count and motility SA rv next month!!
good luck to everyone

I've been taking 50mg of B6, 120mg of b12 with folic acid (all in one pill) for the last 6 months. I still had an unsuccessful cycle. I believe it's just because the Clomid at the low dose of 50mg did not make me ovulate, so my doc has me on 100mg of Clomid this round (haven't started yet)...but I am confident that will get the ovulation going, and then my B6 and Maca can really do their job of keeping those levels where they are supposed to be =)
