HELP PLEASE! Yay for Soy Isoflavones! BUT WHERE IN THE WORLD IS MY EWCM???

So despite all my efforts (EPO, grapefruit juice, lots of water) I can not see any EWCM Where has it gone??

On the big PLUS side however... I took soy isoflavones for the first time this month in a bid to wake up my sleepy ovaries (had implanon removed last month; 4 years implanon, 4 years EVIL DEPO) and to regulate my cycle (last cycle 37 days with late O on CD25)...

...today I got a beautiful dark line on my OPK on only CD12- so O likely CD13- a massive 12 DAYS EARLIER!! Woohoo! And hopefully a wonderous fresh juicy egg. I had never-before felt left ovary twinges the couple past days- what joy!! Love love love the soy!!

... but does soy giveth with one hand and taketh with the other? Is this the reason for my elusive EWCM? I've read soy unlike clomid doesn't dry up CM, and is often taken in conjunction with clomid precisely to counter act the drying effects of clomid (so clomid 1-5, Soy 5-10).To be fair I had no EWCM last cycle- only (sorry TMI) creamy stuff. But today (positive OPK) I have some scant fluid which is transparent, water like, but NOT stretchy after a few days of the creamy stuff... and my cervical position is definitely ready

What can I do? I have pre-seed but this won't help the little sprockets once they're in the uterus? I will use the instead cups tonight but am worried with no EWCM the little swimmers won't have anything to swim in? I will give DH some proplus and BD as close as poss to O to give them a fighting chance. Oh, and I think legs up for a good hour afterwards. Better keep a good book nearby...

Oh and I've taken Robittusin once today but am worried that if CM is too scant it may end up drying it up? Read it on a post somewhere- anyone else know about this?

I took soy this month to CD 3-7 200 mg
on CD 8 I started taking Mucinex (blue box) && by CD 13 I had lots of CM
Like said above I would have takin the Robittusin but I think it tastes NASTY
Normally I don't have a problem with CM but this month I was trying everything possible: soft cups, soy, Mucinex, and didn't take opks til I got the O pains
Right now I'm on CD 23, (5DPO I think, give or take)

hope you get your
keep us updated
Good Luck

Thanks Kimmie. I feel like a bit of a junkie having the cough medicine
everyday and I don't even like it!

Is this your first cycle on soy and did it move your O up?

5 dpo- so another 9 days till testing for you? Hoping you've got a wonderful little soy bean

Intimate soft cup question alert... anyone put pre-seed in the cup before inserting? If yes... what are the mechanics to this magnificent feat of nature? Please do tell!!

I took soy for the first time last month but I did it on CD 1-5 (160 mg)
felt like I took it too soon and not enough so CD 3-7 (200 mg) this month
as far as O it was right around normal schedule around CD 14-18
just and prayer
The first time I took it I got funny headaches && hot flashes even taking them at bedtime, but the second time around I didn't have no side-effects
and felt like this works better for my body...
Soy worked wonders both times I took it in the O department
&& the Mucinex this time around I think helped a lot too...

What CD did you take soy on??? How many mg did you take???

Your soft cup ?
I have no idea I'm sorry I wish I could help...

I know its really reassuring to see EWCM, but I have read many times that all different kinds of CM can be considered "fertile", even, and sometimes *especially* watery CM. Inside your uterus it is wet and sticky and juicy and all kinds of slippery ;-p Just trust that you are doing your best! And just because you can't see the EWCM doesn't mean there is none inside you.

FX for you and lots of !!!

I did CD3-7 too and started CD1- 80mg, CD2- 80mg, CD3- 100mg, CD4- 120mg, CD5- 160mg. I read a post by RhiannonBaby that said gradually increasing the dose was helpful? Maybe as this mimics the natural increasing levels of estrogen in a normal cycle.

Even though I took them at night I felt really nauseous the next morning, but this only lasted for first two mornings- otherwise I don't think I would have managed to up my dose! I think it's a fine balance for everyone, and too much can actually delay O- but your dose seems to be working for you- fingers and toes crossed for a travelling bean on its way down to it's nesting place!

Were you ovulating fine on your own before the soy?

I assumed I O'd on my first cycle after the implanon removal as I had a clear temp shift (although all my other indicators didn't seem to support it -no EWCM, neg OPK, only slight ferning pattern) so I thought I'd go for a lower dosage on the soy and see how it went.

And you had lots of EWCM on soy? That's fantastic!

I read on this forum about putting some preseed in the soft cup aswell as in your, er, fangita... I cannot imagine the logistics of this- will try tonight and let you know! Is there such a thing as too much fluid for the little swimmers? I keep imagining them just swimming around and having a jolly in all that preseed (going nuts on proplus) and not getting to the task in hand - ie mission egg hunt lol!!

I didnt have any EWCm last month and still fell preggers....I used the Mucinex and drank TONS of water every day !! I plan on doing the same thing this month, and I also started using the SOY this week..I started my first day of soy at 68 on days 2 and 3 I increased to 102 and I will increase on days 4 and 5 to 170....I also have pre-seed to use which I read helps the spermies not only to swim but survive...

Good luck to you hun ~

Oh really?! That's sooo reassuring I can't tell you!

This TTC journey has got me so close up and personal with my bits (I'm embarrassed actually I never knew the precise workings of down there during the monthly cycle)- previously the thought of checking my cervix would have made me gag. So even if there isn't EWCM when I check internally (TMI I know), the stuff inside my uterus should be fine for the spermies? Brilliant. Thanks Poco. Way less apprehensive about tonights BD.

Will try the preseed inside soft cup experiment though if not only out of sheer curiosity!

Thanks USMC Wifey. I'm so sorry to hear about your M/C. Hopefully the soy will help us all this month. I upped my dosage every day too and loved feeling my ovary twinges a few days after the soy...

So it seems EWCM is not a definite must for fertile CM? Great if the preseed helps to prolong the life of the spermies- I guess if there's not much CM outside the uterus/cervix then the preseed will let the spermies survive long enough to make their way through the cervix (sounds like the notorious Khyber Pass!) where conditions should be more favourable.

Sending lots of dust and positive vibes your way xx xx
