can I be pregnant so soon after the implant being removed?

Hello,

I had my implant removed on the 8th of October and was told by several friends who have had it removed that you are not fertile until after your first period. I have been TTC since the 8th! I was bleeding for 2 weeks up until my removal day when it stopped. I had a tiny bit of spotting on the 15th and then 2 days ago I had brown/pinkish discharge. I have done a test, but I know it is way too early! I have been exhausted and have had lower back ache and sore boobs....Can anyone give me any advice about how likely it is to get pregnant in the first 2 weeks and anyone who has and what the brown/pink discharge, and when is the earliest I can take a test?

This will be my first baby and I am very excited and just trying to nto get too impatient! Any advice would be amazing!

Hiya

As far as I'm aware it is unlikely but by no means impossible. I know that some ladies find their cycles take a while to settle down afterwards, with odd symptoms. I also know of ladies who conceived before their implant was even removed - when it should have still been working!!
I went straight into 26 day cycles after mine was removed although they've gone a bit odd lately, suspected chemical pregnancy and exam stress and rubbish to deal with re. exes etc

I really hope this is it for you, good luck!

Technically you are fertile within 24 hrs of having it removed, although it is recommended to wait for a period before TTC just to make sure any old thick lining build up is shed, as this can affect successful implantation.

The symptoms you are experiencing could be just that your body is getting its normal hormonal balance back, or you could indeed have ovulated after the removal and be pregnant. Sorry not much help there! The only way to know if you have ovulated is if you have recorded your basal body temperatures (BBT). Or take a HPT 14 days after the last time you had sex...

I waited for a period after my implanon removal last month (I was on it for 4 years and then 4 years on depo before that) and just found out that I'm (cautiously) pregnant. I don't want to make it sound that it was easy for me. I charted every thing down to the last detail, took isoflavones to help me ovulate, took all the supplements you can think of to help with CM, etc, used menstrual cups and preseed, and BD'd almost everyday till 2 days past ovulation. But that was just me trying to cover all my bases! Plenty of people get pregnant without even trying.

Good luck and hope it is a BFP x

sunshine, have you had any luck yet?

i ask this as i got my implant taken out a week after you.after i had it out about a week or so later, i started feeling rather tired alot, boobs were getting sore and i was feeling ill.3nights ago i even had what felt like the stretching feeling i had when i was pregnant with my daughter 2yrs ago.i took a test and it was negative though i know it prob would be any way as this was far too early and i havent bleed at all since having the implant out.i have been reading up on it alot and someone had even said not to test until 5-7weeks after getting the implant.

hey! I also had my implanon removed a week ago and feel really sick. I have been TTC and have had intercourse everyday. Have you conceived yet? If you did how long did it take? Hope to hear from you soon!
