is it easy to miss the LH surge?

Thinking of trying opk's next cycle. Just wondering how easily i could miss my surge, dont want to waste too time/money on them as i have a longer cycle history. Trying the EWCM method but not too sure how well it's going for me!!
Thanks.

I don't know but I was glad to see your post as I am curious too. I am using OPKs and I had an "almost" positive on Sunday afternoon when I tested. I actually tested twice that day and both times the line was almost as dark as the control line. Then I tested yesterday (Monday) afternoon fully expecting a positive and I got a very faint line. So I am wondering if I missed my surge or what. I just plan to continue to test this month until I get a positive!

I think i missed my surge last cycle. I was only testing once a day and i had 2 days of near positives, my temp then went up a couple of days later so I did ovulate around that time.

I used them in my last pregnancy and fell pregnant in second month of trying. I don't think they are super sensitive and you have to use a lot to ensure you don't miss the surge.

Fortunately I have a very regular 28 day cycle, so could sort of predict when I was ovulating and hence ensured we DTD around the time.

I was also worried about this - I test every morning with a digi OPK, but as this is only my 1st month TTC I'm not sure whether it'll work or not. I'm on cd11 now (still no smiley face ) so me and OH are BDing every other day just to be sure

Basal Temp testing

Hi everyone,

This is my first month trying to conceive and I'm currently using the cbfm (cd18) however I think I am going to back it up by using the basal temp method too. Has anyone else tried this? I'm sceptical of seeing the changes in temp?

I use the clear blue one with the smiley face then i know for sure-The original pack only had 7 sticks and was around 20 pound but I then saw a thread saying you could use the refill sticks from the CBFM which has around 20 test sticks for 15 on amazon-which work! So i use twice daily around ov time which has been great reassurance.
