do you stop testing once OPK goes + ??

any of you keep using OPKs even after you reached your first positive to try to gauge if you are still in your “peak window” ?

just not entirely sure of the “life span” of the LH in your urine…I know it exists pretty much your whole cycle but surges before ovulation…but how long does it stay “surged”.. I get it that once an OPK goes + is when it picks up your LH surging and that indicates you could possibly O in 12-48 hours...so you should also begin your BD regimen….

but if you continue using the OPK when exactly would it then turn negative again…

would it stay Positive all the way up until the Egg pops out, then immediately goes to negative? Or does it perhaps stays positive even after the egg actually pops out and is sitting there for a period of time waiting for some spermies ? (because they say the egg can stay there for 24 hours) so perhaps OPK will stay positive during this 24 hour period as well ?)

anyone know for sure ?

Got my positive last Sunday, tested again on Monday and nearly no line there at all. By Tuesday gone completely. Haven't bothered testing again since cos I know I don't get a second line at all for the rest of the month - having done OPKs pretty much all the way through last month

THANKS girls,

I use both CBFM and Opks.. My LH must have started going up sometime between 10pm Fri night and 6 Sat AM, now at 4pm Sunday my OPK is negative again... so what does this mean to mean? I am done Ovulating then? does LH stop getting produced the second the egg is released, or is possiblity that eggy is still hanging out waiting to find an egg, but the OPK is negative ?

heres my stats from the last 2 days

FRI AM - High CBFM - OPK
FRI 10PM- - OPK

SAT AM- PeakCBFM +OPK
SAT 4PM - OPK

altho the peak on the CBFM is set automatically by the thing, once you get a peak it automatically gives you a peak the follow day... so I know not to go by the reading on the monitor

After I get a (+) on OPK, I usually test one or two more days just to be sure. Usually, it's (-) after that, but this month it was (+) for two days. They say when that happens you might have caught the LH surge in the beginning and the end, you will probably O 12-36 hours after the LH surge is detected.
