When am I due??

Hi, (Sorry I am not up on all your lingo yet, I keep checking the post that explains it all, but it keeps going right out of my head!)

I had my last period on Tues 1st July and have been on the pill for the last 9 years or so. I wasn't very regular before I went on the pill but never really kept tabs on it. I thought I should have been coming on my period yesterday, but haven't. I tested with a tesco pregnancy test (2 for a fiver or some such) yesterday morning (1st wee) and got .

How do I know when I should be coming on my period? I haven't come on today either. I want to test again, but thought I might wait till Sat now as my sis is 3 months pregnant and didnt get her till 4 days after she was due or maybe I have got my dates all muddled and I'm not due on my period this week at all??

Hi honey, is this your first cycle since coming off the pill? You might settle straight into a 28 day cycle again or may be longer. Since coming off the pill mine have been 33 days on average with one or two longer cycles ... maybe leave it a few more days and test again.... xx

When I come off BCP I normally settle straight back into a 28 days cycle, if your last AF was on the 1st July and your on a 28 day cycle then yes your right you would of been due yesterday, but it can take a few months to settle back into a regular cycle hun! See what the next few days bring and try again!

Thanks for the replies! Glad I worked it out right for the 28 day cycle! I believe I ovulated on 15th or 16th July this month. My friend has a girlie phone that works out yr most fertile days for you and she said 15th (which was my birthday!!) but an internet site said 16th.

Well I guess I will see what Saturday brings when I test again (If I can hold out till then!!)

I too have just come off the pill and have gone to a 32 day cycle last month and who knows this month! i used to be 28 days so i think it just shows that the body needs time to settle and to allow hormones to become more balanced. Good luck hun i hope your cycle kicks back in soon xx

AF arrived yesterday was gutted.

But on the brightside at least I know when I am due now! Although a few of u have said it takes a while to become regular and I was never really regular before the pill.

My friend told me it is actually better to have a proper AF before getting pregnant as it makes it easier for them to work out your baby's due date when you do become pregnant and also it is better for the future baby if you have a proper AF first too, creates a better environment for it or something? Has anyone else heard that or was she just trying to make me feel better?

I was told by the family planning clinic to wait at least 1 cycle before ttc so they can date the due date better so that bit is true if that helps.
