will I get a period if I haven't ovulated??

Hi everyone,

I posted a few days ago that my progesterone level was a tad pants, (5.2) on day 21 of my cycle and as I thought, the dr just said to have another one next cycle and hopes it was a one off as I had a possible infection and it may have affected things I'm a tad gutted but also staying on the positive side that it IS a one off

Anyway, will I get a period??? They have been so much better the last few months, they have all arrived on cd30 and not been overly painful So I naturally want this to continue, (well, I would rather have a bfp of course, but you get what i mean ) I understand that if I am to get a period appear then it will just be a voluntary bleed but I want it to happen so that I know where I am up to and can use opks etc again. Last 2 cycles I have had strong positve opk's but we weren't actively ttc then I know this doesn't mean I definately ovulated, but I like to think it's a good sign as this cycle I only got faint lines I will continue with the homeopathy as it's done me the world of good - yes even with all the "things" i have going on

Anyone not ovulated and still got their period when expected??? - crosses fingers

Hope u dont mind me dropping by, i wasn't ovulating either and would still get bleeds around the CD40-45 mark. Apparently its where the lining gets too thick and sheds, which we think is a period but is a bleed. They dont tend to come on time to be honest, mine were always around the 40 days mark.

Hope this helps and i wish u all the best xx

Hi Sianyld,

Don't mind at all - appreciate the help

May I ask a few more questions ???

How do you know you weren't ovulating? Did you have the cd21ish blood test or did you just kinda know? Did you find that the months you had ovulated, you had an average cycle date? How did you get things back on track, or did you leave it to sort itself out? And how did you keep track of your cycles and ovulation times? And I really hope you don't mind me asking, but are you now pregnant???

I bet you wish you hadn't popped by now Sorry, I'm a bugger for asking lots of q's Thanks again

LOL, no its fine babe.
Ok, we were ttc for 16months since coming off the pill in may09, we had a sort of NTNP approach, after a yr i got worried that something was up, and kinda had an idea i wasn't ovulatin. Had CD21 bloods done, all came back with no ov!
One or two months that i may have ov'd were around 27-30 days. Found out in Aug i have PCOS...I was put on 1500mg of metformin to help with the PCOS, lost 18lbs and last cycle took soy iso Cd's 3-7! and yep I am now 6weeks pregnant with baby #1, just had an early scan yest and saw the HB!

As for tracking hun, i started using fertility friend website, to chart and record my BBT, did cheapy ovulation tests, checked CP and moitored CM! oh and used Pre seed too! so not much lol!

Hope this helps and i wish u all the best hun, if u want any more info u know where i am xx

thanks

I'm hoping I get af at the weekend, but if it's a few days late then I don't mind as long as it comes. Praying that the next cd21ish blood test is all good I can't take any of the drugs to help with ov, not even the soy iso as I have a history of endo and as I have myasthenia, it's too dangerous Ic (bladder) is ok thank goodness, but again, has an impact on what i can and can't take.....

Will stick with my fab homepath and hope for the best We have been ttc on and off for 3 and a half years. My cycles were to pot about 3 years ago where i didn't have one for about 3 months, but they came back and were anywhere between 34 - 42! So who knows if I was or wasn't ovualting as I didn't use opk's etc. I'm just a bit gutted as the last few have been great, cd30 and not overly painful so I was really chuffed about that and I also had strong positive opk's the last 2 months I have tested, so I really do hope this cycle was a one off with having the mishap i had last week

Thanks again and wishing you a very healthy and happy pregnancy

Thanks, and no probs hun, do u see a gynae or FS?

sounds promising that the last few cycles have been around the CD30 mark and +OPK's, a number of women with usually regular cycles can have a couple of anov cycles, think its quite normal. I would def keep going to the homeopath, esp if u r seeing and feeling the benefits chick. I wish u all the best and sending u lots of xx
