Really sorry to hear that! At least you know now and hopefully they will help you to do something about it.

You know every now and then you get stuck with a shitty Gyno. In my opinion I would seek another Doctor. There are a zillion tests they can run and drugs/treatments they can try. My DH has a lower than average SC too, and I have PCOS amongst other things but we were still given options. Hun, I wouldn't lie down and let this be in. I'd fight it. It's your body and you can seek as many opinions as you like

I've booked an appointment to see my GP next week when she's back form holiday as she's been really helpful. She'll tell me what would be best for me to do and if there are any other options. In the mean time I'm going on a mega health kick and i'm gonna shift this excess weight, adam is going to get all the supplements he can to help boost things for him and we're just goign to hold on to our hope for a baby. I'm going to accept the ivf referral as you never know how long you'll have to wait.

Oh hun i'm so sorry that you saw a less than understanding doctor. As you said a below average sperm count, isn't a no sperm count. I would have thought that if you knew you were ovulating that would give the pair of you more hope. I agree with CareBear that although it is great that we have a state healthcare system, it does seem that the care you get from one postcode to another is soo different.
It sounds as if your usual GP is understanding, so lets hope that when you see her that she sees your point of view and orders the hospital to do more tests.
I have my fingers crossed that you and DH will get that much loved baby.

Just a thought, the government are always on about patient choice. Which hospital did you go to. Was it Princess Alexandra in Harlow? You could see if you can go to St Johns in Chelmsford they are who saw me when i MC and they were so nice and understanding. Not sure if that is an option for you.

Well providing your weight isn't an issue and your overall health is good you are entitled to 1 cycle of IVF on the NHS. But you could still conceive naturally and I would fight for Clomid. Here are some websites with ideas on improving motility:

http://yourtotalhealth.ivillage.com/...azy-sperm.html

http://www.fertilityfriends.co.uk/fo...opic=37477.new

http://www.netdoctor.co.uk/ate/menshealth/205766.html

http://www.spermtest.com/tips_to_imp...perm_count.php

Some of these ideas have been proven and can all help to improve the motility of sperm. Sop if you could get clomid and improve the motility even slightly then who knows!!
