Progestone confirmed ovulation but temps don't?!

Hi all,

My Progesterone test came back at 44.3 which has confirmed I ovulated, however, the temps on my chart are all over the place. There's no thermal shift whatsoever. I've used a brand new thermometer & took my temps at the same time every morning after continuous sleep. Has anyone else had temping not work for them? The blood nurse said to me that her Specialist told her it's not reliable

Wow that is very interesting! Did you notice any EWCM at ovulation time? I wonder what the deal is! I would love to know the answer to that!

Yeah I had all the signs, ovulation pain and watery cm (I don't always get ewcm). Wondering if perhaps I've been sold a dud thermometer. It's the only thing I can think of. I'm gonna try with another one next month, might even try the new one alongside the old one and compare lol x

Maybe external factors are affecting your temps, like mild sickness, or anything really? I don't know, but that its GREAT that you did ovulate!

I've heard that sometime if you can have erratic temps when you do it orally but more stable if you temp vaginally (is that even a word!). But hey you HAVE ovulated! X

I've read quite a few things that say temping is unreliable, some women just don't get a thermal shift apparently. I think it's supposed to be used in conjunction with other signs just to give you an indicator of ovulation rather than be gospel?
