Lower abdominal pain and spotting?

Hi girls, my period is due today and yesterday i started spotting.. Thought af was coming but nothing... Then i started having lower abdominal pain and now i am worried as this is not normal for me... I did a pregnancy test but got a bfn... Could it be an ectopic pregnancy? I hope not

I think the pain is usually pretty bad with an ectopic, I know someone that had one and the tests were . I have spotting and cramping but that's usual for me, though last month I had cramping on and off from 6 DPO, and back pain so I was hopeful of a but got me. If the pain gets worse I'd go see your doctor x

seems like AF is just a slow starter this cycle. If the pains are really intense I would see your gyn asap. and ectopic pregnancy pain is usually one sided, kind of severe, and the pain does not come and go, it is constant. Also, you would still be producing pregnancy hormone which would show up on a test.

If the pain again is bad, it's possible you have a cyst. The wait and see approach is usually OK with a cyst because they can resolve on their own, however if the pain becomes constant or really bad it could mean a ruptured or twisted cyst which may need medical attention.

Hopefully though it's just implantation bleeding which means a BFP won't show up for another day or two anyway.
Good luck

Hi girls! Thank you so much for your answers!
The pain is mild, it was in the middle of my lower abdomen but then i started to feel it on the left side, which worried me as ectopic pg pain is on the side... But then i felt it on the right side as well!

I thought implantation bleeding happens a week before your period is due, is it possible to get it around your expected af?

Thanks again girls!!!!

I've heard you can get implantation bleeding around AF date but at 16 DPO it would be very late for implantation to be occurring. I've found my periods have changed since TTC, I get spotting for longer & pains earlier than usual, it could just be your hormones going haywire. If I were you I'd wait another couple of days and if no AF see your doctor (unless the pains get really bad that is!) x

I dont think it sounds like an ectopic, my sister had one and didnt know until she was quite a bit into the pregnancy as the pain doesnt really start until it starts to stretch your tube. She was in agony and it was only on the one side.

Maybe it is AF on its way but just a little delayed, I really hope it is a BFP for you though and am keeping my FX'd!!!

x

Thank you girls! Im cd30 now (17 dpo) and no af yet!! The cramps seem to be gone now. I also started thinking that maybe is af coming slow, as the cramping started to feel sort of period cramps... But i never experience cramps with no period! Its weird!!
Today i did another pg test but bfn again!!!
