Positive OPK'S

Hey Ladies,

Just wondering for those of you have had positive OPK'S, when is the best time of the day to test? Im going to be keeping a closer eye on my OV date this month, tried using them last month but never got a positive and in the end I gave up from pure frustration, thought I would give them a 2nd chance.....

I usually test right after work (around 4pm) when I first get home... but my surge usually last 2 days. I know some woman need to test twice a day as their surge doesn't last as long? But just pick a time of day that works best for you, so you can test around the same time daily. That should give you the best chance to pick up that surge- even if it only lasts a day... so maybe later morning or mid-afternoon?

Best of luck hun!

Hmmm, Guess its just a trial and error thing then. The last time I used them it was was FMU but didnt have much luck with them.... think I might test twice a day this month then just to try and get a positive, Hopefully!...

Have you tried other brands of OPKs? I really feel some work better than others. I don't use the blue dye ones personally, because I always get some sort of a line with those and it's too confusing! lol. I use the pink dye and never get a line unless I'm about to Ov... so it's very clear

Sucks to buy more- but maybe try a cheapie brand from online in conjunction with the ones you already have? You can get some good deals that way. I've seen the clear blue ones say to use with FMU is OK... but all others that I know of say NOT to use FMU- only use later day urine after held for 4 hrs (which is tough sometimes!)- usually just 2-3 hrs is fine though

Best of luck!

Ive tried the ic's last month and boot's own make, tbh i felt as thought boots ones were a bit better but that may just have been because i was testing at different times, I might just buy a whole bunch of ic's to begin with and test through-out the day just to get a idea, I guess when it happens once i'll have a better idea next time.... didnt know about having to hold onto your p for a few hrs, maybe that was the problem!! :

Thanks, I didn't expect to get one today but was just doing them to see! I brought about 40 from ebay for under £5. I literally did 2-3 a day from a few days after AF.
Today, after I got a darker test line than ever this morning, i tested a few hours later and got my surge and its going strong still, so far today i have tested 4 times and will test again tonight before bed. I think for a couple of pounds they are definitely worth it to get an idea
