Calling all PCOS girlies, possible PCOS but no symptoms whatsoever

I got my results back today from the ultra scan i had on the 1st and it said possible pcos as i had a few enlarge follicals on my ovaries but my womb and womb lining looked fine, i told my gp that i was due to ovulate around the time i had my scan (positive opk 6days later) and he said that could be the reason for the enlarged follicals but is sending me for blood tests just incase to make sure either way, but he also asked me if i suffered from weight gain which i dont i have trouble putting it on!!, if i had ache which i dont and if i have excess hair on face and my body etc which i dont and really long periods which i've only had couple long cycles but put that down to stress at work which was bad, he said i have no symptoms of it so chances are i havent got it.

But i wanted to see if anyone on here with pcos has it but with no symptoms????

i have been dx with pcos... no kid just one m/c. my ONLY symptoms is i have the tendency to be overweight... but i lose weight with no problem, LOST SIXTY POUNDS(most women with pcos have difficulties losing weight)oh and acne... i guess around my af i get like four or five pimples that turn into spots (i am 25).my af is usually 30-35 days or so but but two cycles ago i had a 46 day cycle. i am not hairy really... i get a little tiny bit on my upper lips and a few strings of or chin hair every blue moon... i NEVER have cyst pains... i cant ever recall ANY...i have NEVER had high blood sugar....i only know for certain i have pcos because i asked my obgyn to test my hormones and sure enough i had an odd fhs to lh level...pcos, but then on the pther hand i have a friend who aslo has it and her ONLY symptom are actual ovarian cyst...many at once, with severe pain...pcos...she hasnt ever been heavy...so get a hormone panel if concerned. there are many different levels of pcos.

so what exactly is pcos then? I thought it was cysts on the ovaries? Should we all be checked for it?? I had issues with acne and have hair, but it runs in my italian family lol. When you say long periods, do you mean bleeding for more than 7 days, or long cycles? I bleed for 7-9 days (last 2-3 days is spotting) Should I get checked out?

it is basically cysts on the ovaries, i was checked for it because i had some long cycles which were 50days long and i was normally always 28-30days long so it was not right for me so i got checked out and i have a brilliant doctor which helps. If your periods are irregular or you have long cycles then get checked out otherwise i wouldn;t worry about it. Thankfully i got my hormone blood tests back today and i dont have PCOS

Yay that is great to hear that you don't have it! Woo hoo!! Have you looked into vitex? I have taken it since I got off BC 4 cycles ago. Not sure what my cycles should have been, but first 2 months were 33/34 days and the last 2 months were 29 days.

it is possible to poly-cystic ovaries (PCO) without the other effects it becomes PCOS if you have the cysts along with a number of the usual symptoms.

I had my scan results the other day, they showed poly-cystic ovaries (poly means many cysts) I have to have a few blood tests towards the end of this cycle to confirm if it is the syndrome or just cysts on my ovaries. I would put money on it being PCOS at I am very overweight and struggle to loose the weight, I loose a stone then stick then pile on 2 I get outbreaks of greasy spotty snin around the time of OV/AF, my cycle vary and tend to be around 30-35 days with the odd longer cycle thrown in. I am not excessively hairy (no facial hair etc) I have however been looseing hair from my head at a larger amount for the past year or so when I wash it (I have thick hair so it dont notice) I know my ovaries was fine and not PCO in 2007 as I had a scan on them then.

I def think it's worth seeing your doctor about it, you do have may symptoms of it, your doctor will most likely just send you for bloods but it's worth it to know
