CBFM going from low to peak two months in a row?!

Hi Girls...

A little confused here....my monitor went from low to peak again this month. I have been using the monitor since January and have always got low, high, and peak readings. The past two months my monitor has shot straight from low to peaks. Last month my day of peak reading was my ovulation day (I chart my temps). Today is the first day of my peak, so I am not certain of ovulation yet. I will BD today, but the whole reason I have the monitor is to give me the days leading up to ovulation!! I hope it is not too late already!!!!

Any thoughts????

Im not sure about the CBFM, but if you know when you are expected to O, id just BD on those days anyway until you confirm O. If you want to know for sure then why not take some cheapie OPKs with the same urine? You can get 30 for about $5.

Ive had this happen several times myself. I wouldnt worry too much about it, after all the peak means you will ov within the next 12 to 36 hours..usually the next day. So as long as you've been busy in the bed department the day before and on the day of your peak you are more than covered. For good measure the day of ov is also good

Studies have shown that bd 2 days before ov and on ov day have the same and best chances of conception-about 34-36% so unless you havent bd at all,you are in the clear.

Just keep in mind the peak means ov is detected to be starting so you do know when you ov. As far as the anomaly of going from low to peak..i know its very frustrating and is generally due to the cbfm having probs picking up the estrogen..but it doenst mean anything is wrong with you- its just a blip and it should straighten itself out in due time. keep in mind it reads you every month and works accordingly- i should know as ive used it over a year and had a mc in that time and the poor thing has had some fun with me, i can tell you, lol!!

To re-cap. you know when you ov, so as a future precaution make sure you bd on the days leading up to your predicted ov date(s) and you should be safe. Altenatively, have a look at http://www.whenmybaby.com/conception-calendar.php its a fertility calender which tells you all the days you should bd based on previous ov dates etc. I love this little thing and even print it out and stick it on the fridge as a reminder..you know how guys are, lol!!

Hope this helps! Also, are you keeping an eye on your cm? it also gives you an idea you are about to ov so you should bd on those days as well..

Hugs, Omi xxx

i use the persona fertilitymonitor ....exactley same as cbfm (same symbols..even saem test sticks!) and this is my first mth...again (didnt reset it proper last mth) but i wud of thought if it went from low to peak it be same amount of notice as an opk then wudnt it?
suppose if u chart and u O on or around same day each mth then u ur sel cud maybe guess a high reading...BUT if it doesnt go bk to L-H-P then i wud phone the help line uknow or even take it bk,say its faulty, depending on where u got it,hope u get bk 2normal asap

Thanks everyone!!

Omni,

The tricky thing is that I don't know when I ovulate as my date changes drastically. I chart my BBT on FF and I have ovulated anywhere from day 17 to day 31! I have been tracking my cm and it is not really egg white or watery. It is still in the lotion stage, so hopefully O is coming, and it hasn't happened. I went to the store this morning and bought FR ovulation tests and my test came out negative...so hopefully O hasn't happened and the monitor picked it up earlier.

If anyone is interested, here is my chart:
http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/1f6896

I haven't had good BD timing as I have no idea when I ovulate and I have been getting low readings. I will BD today and keep going until I know for sure I ovulated.

Thanks for your help!

I see what you mean...

Thats probably why it jumps from low to peak then. It happened to me after my mc for a couple of months, and im sure its the reason as my cycles changed lenght as well.

it must be very frustrating to have ov jump back and forth like that. Any idea what your lp is?

Also, if you've used opk's- do you ever get a second line? because after having researched this, it turns out a second line does mean you are about to ov..even if you dont get a line as dark as the control line- granted you wont know the exact day but at least it will give you a window of bd to try. Also, the second line is positive if it only has a border as dark as the control line. have you tried to read the cbfm sticks? I did when the monitor went crazy on me, lol! have a look at www.peeonastick.com It explains how to do it!

if you got a peak, you;re ov'ing lady. All it takes is one time..i should know

Hope im not just ranting and maybe try the fertility planner anyway??

Omni- Thanks again for your advice. I don't use opk's frequently, but the LH line is significantly lighter than the control line. I have been trying to read my CBFM sticks for the first time this month. Today was the first day where my lines were almost equal. The rest of the days my estrogen line was really dark and my LH line was light. Today, my estrogen line lightened (from what I understand this means estrogen is rising) and my LH was darker.

I just hope I didn't ovulate, hence the negative opk.

I will definitely check out fertility planner...I'm willing to do anything!!!

I would say Ash you're luckier than most if you have irrregular cycles as you do get signs of ovualtion whereas other never get a whiff. In your case, you have clear proof from your cbfm you are about to ov so get in there and ctach the eggie!!!

the cbfm stick sounds just like mine when i ov..so happy days mrs!!

You DO know when you ov..just not always way in advance! Good luck- now get to work, lol!!
