Glad to hear the ultrasound isn't so bad...that sounded like the worst part to me. Although my friend who just had a baby had to drink the Glucola (stuff I have to drink tomorrow for bloodwork)...and said it is really disgusting!
Yeah it scared me too, I had to drink tons of water! I had a great ultrasound tech, she said everything looked normal, even though it didnt to me, but also i had no idea what the heck i was looking at the bloodwork was the worst part for me, i hate needles. i was so dizzy afterwords. but i also had to wait for 2 weeks to get my results, it drove me nuts i finally called in to get them. she said everything looked good but still wanted to "go over" everything at my next appointment, which is next friday. so im a little freaked.

Yeah they told me it will take 10 days to get the results back, although my doctor said she would be happy to call and discuss over the phone when the results come back so I don't have to go back in again. Ten days! That seems like forever.

Good luck, I hope you get good news next Friday!!

What can they do if you just don't ovulate? Hope things are working out for you!

Sorry to hear that, but it's great the tests are happening quickly and it's not a foregone conclusion you have got PCOS!

I had a LOT of the symptoms of PCOS and my GP was pretty sure I'd got it a year ago. I had bad skin, weight problems, no periods and (worst and most embarassing) excess facial hair! Also had obvious large ovarian cysts as a teen when I was a great deal more overweight than I am now. Anyway, had all the hormone tests, normal, had an ultrasound and then an MRI scan which showed everything was fine and I certainly don't have PCOS!

I hope it all works out for you and it's not the end of the world if you do have PCOS, it definitely does NOT rule out pregnancy and there are options your GP can talk to you about. Good luck

That's actually one thing I forgot to ask my doc today, what counts as "excessive" facial hair? I definitely have some (embarrassed!) hair on my chin (which I'm always plucking out) and a little mustache, and some hair on my abdominal wall between my belly button and "down there," but I don't really know what's normal and what's excessive...it seems like it's always been there, but I'm paying attention now because I read it's a symptom!

We have been TTC only since October, but my cycles are CRAZY, sometimes only a few weeks in between, sometimes months, and I have been spotting mid cycle.

Since I am getting periods sometimes, doc said it's probably mild if it is what I have, and therefore probably treatable...but it's still hard to hear
I left my long-term GP for my current GYN after my GP didn't want to run any tests or look into anything. My current GYN is who diagnosed my PCOS and said its mild as well. It makes you feel so much better when you finally have someone who is actually trying to help you, doesn't it? As for the excessive hair, I get the stray hairs on my chin, upper lip, and chest too...found out I had slightly elevated testosterone.

Got back from blood work today...they took 14 vials!!! That was the most I've ever had taken, I actually started to get a little warm/dizzy. The Glucola wasn't so bad, it tasted like orange Gatorade to me. Now it's just a waiting game I guess.
