Smoking Reducing sperm?

Hi,

I wondered if any one conceived with their partner smoking?

I've never been with anyone before who smokes, and compared to my ex we are finding it longer to conceive?

Thanks

My partner smokes grr I keep trying to get him to quit. I watched embarrassing bodies and they did semen analysis on 3 young lads? And the lad who smoked, his sperm was much slower and immobile compared to his friends who didn't smoke, I think it reduces it a lot, the chemicals in cigs are nasty xx

It does lower sperm count but I do know loads of people who have still conceived whilst smoking.

I'm doing the same, his lowered his smoking during the week, but once he is around his mates, then he smokes like a train.

I'm considering getting a home sperm testing kit, to show him, as he is forever saying he'll quit lol

The one on amazon was like 22.00

Which is quiet cheap, and it gives not just sperm numbers but movement test too.

Dh had a sa about a month ago and it found his motility and morphology low. He had been smoking since quite young but I am very lucky that since getting the results he has stopped. He's due to take another test in a couple months and we are hoping for a better result.

Since asking around, a few of the mums I knew said once the dad stopped smoking they conceived quicker.
Mine has said he will start to quit at the end of the month, he only smokes like 3 times a day, but it's the weekends which he goes a bit ott on.

We both smoked right up till I got my BFP, I quit straight away and as much as I need one right now to deal with our loss, I plan on not taking it up again. My Hubby also use to have drug addictions and he concieved two happ healthy babies with his ex partner

Hi

Just over a month ago DH had a SA and it came back quite bad, hubby had smoked for 13 years or so. Doctor said it was prob due to the smoking and so DH stopped straight away. As you can see I got my BFP the other day and obviously it has only been a month so not really enough time for the not smoking to take affect.

I really think me relaxing and resigning myself to the thought it was going to take a long time helped, but then it could have just been luck.
