I have an ovulation question / vent

I'm a little confused / frustrated today. Today is CD 17 for me. On CD 14 and 15 I got OPK's that looked like this:

Not quite positive but pretty much. I figured a positive test was only hours away. Well I never got a positive test. The last two days my tests have been no where near positive. I also had major headaches on CD 14 and 15 (the almost positive days) as well as slight twinging pain on my left side on CD 15.

The pain has continued off and on all the way up to today, all still on the left side. I am assuming that it is ovulation pain, but I don't know whether I have already O'd or not. So confused. If anyone has any opinions I would love to hear them.

To make matters worse, we have been trying to BD everyday (because we aren't sure about the whole ovulation thing) but we have company staying with us all week. So we were DTD last night but our guest was still up and talking on the phone and I think my husband felt really awkward and couldn't finish. I feel like we really need to try again tonight but I don't want to put too much pressure on him because I know that won't help.

Just a little vent / plea for help. Thanks for reading and any opinions about the ovulation thing would be greatly appreciated!

hi there
i had a nearly positive on an opk but it never got completely positive, however 7days after that i got a complete positive result. so your body may have been gearing up for it but never made it like mine. keep testing and good luck

i agree, either that or you caught your surge on its way down and missed the peak?? I can't see you pics on my screen for some reason (more than likely a problem my end than a problem with your pics!!) but they do recommend that you test twice a day, say around 2pm and 10pm (and NOT first thing in the morning) as by testing once a day it is easier to miss the peak

xx

Thank you two so much for responding. Kinda frustrating that this thread had 51 views and 2 replies. I greatly appreciate your thoughts.

I do test twice a day. Usually in the early morning (not first morning urine though) before I go to work and then again when I get home from work in the late evening.

Both of the darkish tests were taken in the evening. To make matters more confusing, I took another test this afternoon and again turned out that dark! The last few days have been very negative. So then I took another one 4 hours later and IT was very negative. So I am so confused and don't know what to think anymore. I apparently really suck at this whole OPK thing

Trish... How long have you been OPK'ing for? This was the first month in 3 that I actually got a + opk, so I though wooo-hoo!!! However 5 days later when they were STILL positive,( then I ran out of opk's lol) but then I knew something was wrong/off, esspically asking for advise on here. So I called my Dr. and asked to get a progesterone test done... sure enough my numbers were 9.4 and they said I was not ovulating as she wants my numbers a 12 or above... SOOO Clomid here I come!! At least I am headed in the right direction and hope to see a true positive next cycle! af due tomorrow or Friday
..

I just wanted to share my story, and hope you get that positive soon... if not maybe you also should get those levels checked? ESSPICALLY if this has happened for a few months?

FX you get BOTH BFP's soon!!

This is my first month using OPK's.

I am on my first month of Clomid and diagnosed with PCOS. I don't know if that makes a difference or not. I am just hoping that for some reason my body is not responding to the OPK's but that it is still ovulating. I mean I felt really confident that I O'd around the 14th or 15th since I had pain on my left side, I have never had that before. But now I am just confused.

Thank you so much for your reply! I see you are from Cali? What part?

Weird... as I told the Dr. today ( I had to go in and see another one as mine was out) But yeesterday when the nurse called to confirm I was not O'ing she said my Dr. wanted me in right away for a us... so they found cyst on each side.. (I had a mmc in Nov.) anyway for the past 3 months right around O time I start cramps... but then they stay till af.. and a few days before af they are those kind of cramps that I just know she is coming.

What CD did you take your clomid? ad how long are your cycles normally? I have heard that depending on the days it can push back O day?

I really don't know how long my cycles are normally. I was on BC for 7 years and don't really remember what it was like before then as I was young. But when I came off BC so we could start trying I went 3 months w/o a cycle. So my doctor gave me provera and then we started clomid.

I am on 50mg taken on CD 5-9.

Luckily DH and I got back on track, we have still been able to DTD every other day, I had just wanted to sneak an extra one in since I thought I might me Ovulating. We just try for a quicky before our guest gets home So far so good, I guess I'll just have to drive myself crazy and wait till I get blood results done next week
