Well if you are really wanting to get prego now i would call the Dr and see if you can get your body back in the swing of things or it might take a lot longer... that depo shot is evil!! It really messed my cycles up.

I to am fed up. On depo for 10yrs, off it for 11months and still no AF. My GP here in Scotland basically told me I may have sterilized myself but that was the risk i took taking depo in the first place....a total jerk tried 800mg of agnus castus for 3 months, to no avail. Tried the bcp for a month to try to bring on a normal cycle but didn't continue to take it after 7 day break cos I felt it was just a backwards step to were I wanna be. Any advice would be great. Sick of spending on hpt's when they are always neg. Help

(Just so you know, this is a REALLY old thread!)...but I'll try to help anyway

Depo is EVIL! I had the opposite problem though--was one it for only 3 months and ended up having a non-stop period for over 120 days! The doctors were baffled as to how I was not anemic by the end of it!

There are plenty of drugs that can induce periods or ovulation. I would ask your gynecologist about these (clomid is a very popular one).

Good luck to you! And just so you know, it looks like the woman who started this thread is due to deliver very soon

Hang in there hon, I was on depo for 3 or 4 years had last injection Feb 2009 and got my first bleed Sept 09. Waited 6 weeks for the next one and then they came every 2 or 3 weeks!

I think I finally ovulated for the first time in December, 10 months after the last injection.

Good luck and I hope AF rears her ugly head for you soon!

My last DEPO shot was in July of last year. I finally went on BCP's in February. For only a month (I had the same set back fear) had a period at the end of the cycle on them. And have had normal periods since and ovulated last month! So in short, I ovulated 3 months after being on BCP's to start my period. I was on DEPO for 7 years.

Hello ladies, I too was on Depo and waited 5 months for AF to return. However when it did, I was getting it every 2 weeks for 4 months. I've now just had 2 four week cycles, and am 2 weeks into what I am hoping is another regular cycle. I'm not certain I've been ovulating as some of my signs are still a little off (I'm not charting or anything else, as have been waiting for cycle to regulate) but hoping this month all is good to go. I was only on Depo for 18 months, getting shots every 3 months. I am a little concerned at how long some of you were on it as my doc wouldn't let me be on it longer than 2 years. Apparently it weakens bones. A xo
