Positve hpt 4 weeks after miscarriage at 5 weeks

I had a misscarriage at 5 weeks on June 10th. I didn't get blood taken again after the miscarriage so I don't know what my levels were. I just took a hpt and it imediately came out positve. I know I'm not still pregnant from before but could the hgc still be lingering nearly a month later if I lost at only 5 weeks? I suspect I may have conceived again around 26th of June as I ovulated then. Sorry I have not updated my ticker as I haven't had the heart to come back to this site after losing my baby. I've read hgc can linger for weeks so I'm not confident of the test results..

hun... are sure that you lost it? that it was just an early pregnancy bleed?

if not, you could have conceived again between then and now. best go to the doc. *hug* x

hun. So sorry for your loss. I miscarriage at 7-8 weeks this past month and I have been told you a few things-- hormones can lat in your system for weeks (though mine were out promptly), and also that you can conceive a bit easier after a mc.

You have a few options here-- You could wait it out and then test again in a week or two. Call your doc with your concern if they are likely to see you. Or wait to see if you get AF. I know it's hard to discern and figure out your cycle after mc. Hang in there! You're not alone!

4 weeks is quite a while, but I agree with HoldOn2Hope - it could be either or. I'd follow her suggestions! Good luck!!

I had my first negative hpt last Sunday after a mc on the 14th June so it can linger in your system but hope it's a new pregnancy for you. My positives took ages to show and were very faint. Great advice above. Good luck and hope all works out for you xx

Thanks for your responses ladies, Ive decided to go to the doctor today, if he takes blood twice in the next week I guess I'll have my answer. Im pretty certain it is a BFP though as all of sudden I definately feel pregnant again, whereas when I miscarried my strong symptoms suddenly disappeared the day before it happened. Thanks so much for the advice! xx

I MC at 5 weeks and 5 days later a blood test confirmed the HCG was gone. Good luck at the doc!
