Can you have regular periods & not ovulate every month

Can you have a period every month & not ovulate?

I am regularly getting my period & yes they do contain clots so I know I am releasing an egg etc, & I'm getting tons of EWCM 7 days before my period & have hot flushes & feel irritated/moody at the time so I'm assuming I am ovulating but I haven't dun any temps etc as I don't have a thermometer....

So does this mean I am ovulating or am I having a period every month without ovulating?

if you are releasing an egg, you are ovulating..

There is such a thing called an anovulatory cycle which means your body thinks you ovulated--but you didnt--but you still bleed. I dont know how it happens and nobody seems to know why, but it sure can.

If your periods are regular and you know for sure you releasing an egg I think you should be fine. However, if you are releasing an egg 7 days before your period, your luteal phase is really short so you might want to look into some herbs or progesterone creams or something to try to lengthen your luteal phase.

If you are getting your period 7 days after ovulation then you don't have a normal lp which will make it impossible to get pregnant. B6 helps.

Thanks heaps :-) I've managed to get an appt with my gyno on Friday so fx she does a scan & bloods to see where I'm at I'm on day 7 of my cycle & started soy on day 3 with 120mg, 160mg, 200mg, 240mg then tonight I'm doing 240 again I'm hoping the soy works & brings Ov to anyday after 13 as this is when DP is home

So if when I get to see doc, will day 11 be early to test bloods or see any follies?

Thanks heaps girls x
