Anyone have and Laparoscopy and dye test success stories...in regards to conception?
On the 5th of November I had a Laparoscopy and dye test whereby they investigated my fallopian tubes.
They flushed my tubes through and discovered that I have the beginnings of Endrometriosis.
They have also put me on a course of clomid (medication).
Does anyone have any success stories regarding conception post Lap & dye?
I have heard that many fall shortly after the procedure....I would appreciate any responses.
I had one in 2002 and was told that my tubes were so badly scarred they could not get the dye to go through. I was put on the waiting list for IVF and the consultant wanted to remove my tubes to increase the success of IVF. I refused to have them removed and when I came to the top of the waiting list, I put it on hold as my marriage broke down. In 2007, a month after my 39th birthday, I conceived naturally and am now a mother to a 13 week old boy. Just to let you know that I was not on any birth control since I was 17 years old and never fell pregnant until last year. Doctors do not always know everything!
At my last OB appt (last week) doc said he wanted to schedule one for me after the beginning of the year. He said they are like "magic" (his words) and "you wouldn't believe the number of women who get them and then come back in six weeks later pregnant."
I have never known anyone personally to have this procedure, but his words gave me hope.
I would love to tell you that I fell pregnant after my lap, hyst, and dye but I was careful to avoid it for 2 months after (the hysteroscopy removed a polyp at the entrance of my uterus and I wanted to be sure to let it heal fully). Right now I am taking vitamins and supplements to help my endometriosis (severe: stage III). I feel that now it's the right time to TTC as I have healed and feel that the endo is getting under control.
Some side advice-if you have the beginnings of endo, I recommend looking into hormone balancing, as endo greatly reduces your ability to get preg-I could go into depth but I'm sure your doctor can tell you more. If you'd like more info you can PM me, I'd be happy to help!!
