Hiya well i was talking to sumone today and they told me how to check your cervix i havent done it before and was curious so i checked it im 2 days of being due my cervix feels high really soft and possibly open (although im no expert on this but i think it feels open) its deffo high up thought i wasnt gonna be able to even feel it and its very soft what does this mean just before period due just out of curisoity its all very intresting just dont know what it all means
It takes a couple of weeks to identify the cervix position as well as it's softness.
Usually, before the period, the cervix is low, hard and slightly open to let the flow pass - obviously, each woman is different and you should check your cervix at the same time and in the same position every day because these things can affect how it feels.
Also, if you check your cervix while you are aroused it will feel high and soft.
A SHOW cervix means ovulation is near and a high, soft cervix near period time may also mean you are pregnant.
Experience, though, is the most reliable skill to be able to read these signs accurately.
oh yes!! its kind of awkward lol but it definately helps!! like rebel-fairy said it takes a few weeks to get into the swing of things. idk if im allowed to tell you guys about this, but if you type in my beautiful cervix on google, there is a great teaaching guide on what it SHOULD look like. it is graphic TMI. but it really helps women like us!!
Definitely don't put too much stock into what you feel until you have been doing it long enough to be SURE about what you are feeling and you know your OWN patterns. I do all sorts of charting (BBT, opks, CM, o pain, CP) and find that CP is the HARDEST by far to get straight and understand.
It's worth a go, but just don't use anything as gospel until you feel like you know what's up with your own CP.
