Preseed Vs... canola oil?!

I was looking on amazon at preseed and thought about buying some. I'm reading through reviews and I stumble upon one that says that CANOLA OIL of all things is a safe, effective alternative to pre seed. Apparently olive oil is too.

Has anyone else heard this or was this reviewer blowing smoke? Olive oil/canola oil are obviously way cheaper and more readily available than pre seed, so if this is true.... I should look no further than my spice cabinet. :P

Canola oil?? mmm would be very oily and gross, get all over the sheets/ furniture too i reckon. If your worried about preseed being $$, get some on ebay, i got 2 tubes for only $30!
from what ive heard its worth a try, very kind to the spermies!

That doesnt sound safe, clean, or hygienic whatsoever. I didnt read the article so maybe they are good alternatives but I dont think I would want to cooking oils in me. That sounds disgusting. I really like preseed or conceive plus too, if you havent heard of that one. Conceive plus is more expensive than preseed but works a tiny bit better.

You can do whatever you want.. but I have NEVER head of oil being a safe alternative and if it is, that is really weird and kinda gross. Lol

I dont think it would be unsafe to use because its just oil, that is all natural. Preseed is whats not natual, my OH wont even let me use it because he want to "do this natural".. he wants no assitance with us getting pregnant. I had to talk him into letting me use softcups.

I could see it being very messy though, if youre going to try it, I would maybe put like a 1/4 of a teaspoon in, and then maybe rub some on him, but not a lot.

I have never heard of this before, you may want to do some research about it, and ask your doctor if you have a chance & then if you can, someone that works in a lab..maybe a student.. they would REALLY be able to tell you if the sperm can live in it, although they may not be able to tell you if its safe to use, your doctor would be better to ask about something like that.

I wouldnt do it, but wont knock you for trying.. Do some more research although I am pretty sure you wont be able to find anything about it.. Let us know what you end up deciding.

I don't think I'm actually going to use oil. The person said their doctor recommended it, but since it's the internet... not gonna trust people as far as I can throw them on Amazon. lol. They said that because it's a natural oil and not hydrogenated, that it's safe for use as a lube.

I'll probably just buy the preseed or conceive plus, haha. Less worry that way!

I've heard that coconut oil is good for TTC. My friend got pregnant TWICE while using it. They were just using it as regular lube the first time and then for TTC the second time so I'm assuming it works. I've also read a lot about the "wonders" of coconut oil for hair, skin, and food so if you hated it, you could always re-purpose it for beauty or cooking.

I have heard some success stories with olive oil, actually. I think it's a nice alternative to those who like natural products. Of course, always do research before you try something new
