Pcos ? TTC

Hey everyone,

my husband and I have been trying to conceive for a little over a year and haven't had any luck. so I went to my doctor about 2 weeks ago and he said it sounds like I have PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome)..as my doc put it, cysts in the ovaries, but the military clinic here doesn't have an OB/GYN so I have to wait for a doctor to see me off base.I'm so utterly upset I dont even know what to do with myself I couldn't wish for anything better in the world than becoming a mom... Has anyone here had this? I would really appreciate talking to someone else who knows about/ or has had it

Hi, I was diagnosed ith PCOS in early Febraruy. I can say its hard to deal with at times, especially when TTC. It messes with your hormones a lot and can cause cysts on the ovaries, insuline resistance, excess hair and acne, ect.

My ex and i TTC'd for over a year and got nothing, I went in to see my doc in Feb and she did a bunch of tests and diagnosed me with PCOS. In March she put me on metformin to help with the insuline resistance and told me to lose weight if I really wanted a baby. (I was about 200lbs at the time of diagnosis) Well my ex kept saying how he didn't want to be with someone who took pills all the time and we eventually broke up this past May. Which was a total blessing in disguise because I got together with the love of my life that same month. (I had atcually met him in February of this year, he was really easy to talk to and get along with. I actually fell in love with him then)

Anyways to get back on topic, by this time I had been on Metformin for 3 months and BCP for 1 (BPC help to regulate periods if they are messed up) and had lost close to 30lbs.
The first time my OH and I slept together I got pregnant, tho It ended in a MC 2 months in.

I'm still on Metformin and working on losing weight to battle my PCOS. and so far its been great like i don't even have it. And I know most site out there one the web tell you how hard it is to get pregnant with PCOS and how it will be even harder to carry the baby to term, I can honestly say that it can happen! You can get pregnant with PCOS and carry a baby to term!! (my MC was cause by other factors)

If you have any other questions feel free to PM me anytime

Sorry sweetie

I can't offer any advice as I haven't been to a specialist yet to see if I have any issues (as it hasn't been the year mark yet) but I wanted to let you know that many women here deal with PCOS so you have come to the right place. There is a thread floating around here with pages among pages of info an support on PCOS. Let me run off and see if I can find that for you

Okay, the thread I was thinking of is about Clomid - a medication that can be taken to help PCOS.

There is still a lot of information here and I think the ladies here are the right ones to talk to about PCOS.

Good luck

Good luck with everything, sounds like your doing great with the loosing weight and finding the right man for you!

I have polycystic ovaries and take agnus castus for my longer irregular cycles. After taking it for three months I had my first ever 28 day cycle so I really recommend this, although we're not pregnant yet, just having my cycles evened out really helps so if your cycles are messed up, maybe you can try this in the mean time until you can see a doctor? It really helped me personally, good luck sweetie, big

It took me years to get my PCOS diagnosed, I knew I had it but the dr didnt care to get me any tests.
Once I changed my dr's and had it properly diagnosed (I had PCOS, one shrivled overy that wasnt working due to being covered in cycsts and one that barely worked) I had scans and bits done and drasticly changed my diet and excersise.
I was due to go for the dye test to check my tubes and clear any blockages but 2 days before the test nature just suddenly decided to kick in all on its own and I got my bfp
With the proper help, advice and diet and sometimes even medication (luckely I didnt need any in the end) anything is possible so dont give up hope
Most of my 8 year ttc journey was taken up by useless dr's that refused to help so at least you have a diagnosis and can start towards getting it treated.
Good luck

I have pcos and conceived my daughter compeltely by surprise (I was on BC pills) so it does happen all the time. I have been ttc #2 for the past 6 months and no bfp yet and I have only ovulated once or twice but Im trying to keep positive and so should you.
I have started clomid this month which helps you ovulate. Diet and excercise also helps. Lots of women conceive with pcos and Im sure you will be one of them! Good luck! xx
