Bummed...low progesterone...help!

Hello ladies...I'm 34 and TTC#1. I am feeling really bummed today and was hoping some of you ladies could help me out. I came off the pill in June and just ended my 5th cycle with all BFN's. I saw an RE during this last cycle due to my age and it being my first child that I am TTC. I was also concerned because even though af has been pretty regular as well as me getting positive opks and peaks on my cbfm...I have been spotting this around 10 dpo until af (about 4 days per cycle). My RE did a bunch of blood tests during my cycle and today on CD25, after a negative blood pregnancy test, he did a uterine lining biopsy. After the painful procedure, he told me that my blood tests have been coming back with low progesterone levels and if my biopsy comes back with similar results, he is going to recommend clomid. I am pretty upset because I have been afraid all along that this could be my issue. Does this mean I may not be ovulating? Anyone else have these tests done and had similar results? Advice?

Hello! I have low progesterone too. My first doctor would not test my progesterone. I switched doctors and he tested mine and my 7 dpo blood draw was a 5.6. He told me was ovulating just didn't have enough progesterone to sustain pregnancy.
He started me on a cycle of clomid (day 3-7, estradiol 8-12, Prometrium day 16- until period) I became pregnant the first cycle and he told me to continue taking the prometrium.
Don't worry! Just remember that Clomid does dry up your CM. So my doctor recommended guaifenesin.

Low progesterone is a very good indicator that you are not ovulating or like christina said it isn't high enough to sustain a pregnancy. I had to be put on Femara and I have had great progesterone levels the last two months. Before Femara my level was a 7.7 now it runs between 15-17.

Thanks everyone...I'm a little freaked out that no one else on here has had a bioposy test along with the bloodwork done by their RE. I am hoping it tells him more about my levels and such but why has no one else had this done for suspected low progesterone??

My Dr. suspects that my progesterone is low, I have never had a 7dpo progesterone check, but I had my progesterone checked at 19dpo with my last pregnancy and it was only 6.8 I started Prometrium but I went on the MC a couple weeks later. I brought my charts in to my last Dr. appointment and he started me on Prometrium at CD16 based on a LP of 11 days with spotting starting at 9dpo. This is my first cycle using it. I am planning on trying this for a few cycles and if I still don't get a BFP then asking about Clomid. I have never seen a RE, because I have only been TTC 10 months now. I don't know if my regular OB/GYN would do a biopsy or not.

I have spotted every single cycle since I started TTC last Feb, even the cycle I got my BFP! I am certain my spotting is from my Progesterone being low.
