Okay to be honest....i really DONT want to tell you this...b/c its so inaccurate when it comes to predicting pregnancy.......BUT if and only if you are going to use this method to determine when you are about to O then yes that is fine.
This is very addictive and false hope or false sadness alot of times.
So ok......First make sure you wash your hands very throughly before doing this. You obvioulsy dont want to bring in bacteria.
Sit on the loo with one leg up and take one hand and reach up your vagina with your index finger or your index and middle...if you want to use two. Once you feel a stopping point..that is your cervix.
Before you ovulate you cervix should be easy to reach and feel like the tip of your nose. it will feel pretty firm. It will most likely feel closed as well. This would be considere non fertile cervix. You may notice barely any discharge or may some creamy or sticky cm.
What they say for prime ovulation would be a high, soft, opened, wet cervix. The cervix will most likely be hard to reach, very soft, and you could put a finger in the whole. When you withdrawl your finger you may notice some ewcm on your finger. This is a good sign that you may be close to or ovulating...speically if you have ewcm, and a positive opk.
normally after ovulation your cervix will return to a low, firm, closed position...meaning its in a non fertile state. you may notice a dry sensation.
And when af is on its way it should feel more opened and softish.
Make sure you check your cervix the same postion and the same time everyday as it tends to shift throughout the day.
Take care and good luck....and PLEASE dont get obsessive over this.
Hope this helps.
Also, I don't know if anyone else has mentioned this or not as I didnt check all replies, but depending on how your actually sitting/standing/laying when you're checking your cervix, the position will change from minute to minute everytime you change position. (So I've found) <-- Addicted to checking CP.
yes, that is true proudmum.....thats why its important to check it the same way and at the same time everyday.
Lying down is just makes in naturally harder to reach b/c of less gravity. and when you are sitting you have gravity pushing it down more. Also having a full bladder or bowel can make a difference. I woul empty your bladder first.
