Don't think I'm stressed, but stressed out people may be the last one to realise it. I don't feel pressured to get pregnant in the last few months since we've only started. But I do get listless when it comes to the TWW, that sucks.

@Lauren - Glad to hear your OB visit went well Thanks for the info on Vitex... won't be looking to buy it now! If you are spotting right after ovulation, it sounds like ovulation spotting. Do you spot after ovulation, then stop, then start again?? I've read about it but never experienced it.

Still sounds like both our OBs are just not that concerned about the spotting and think we're too hyped up about it. I'm nervous about this weekend....that's when I am expecting my spotting to start. I'll let you know what happens.

@NoodleSnack - I'm totally with you....I HATE the TWW!!!!!!

My OB still wasn't concerned about spotting...she did say that it wasn't 'ideal', but didn't think it could prevent me from getting pregnant. I asked her about LPD and she said that it was a controversial topic and not all doctors believe it's an actual condition. She said that the ways to test the corpus luteum involved a uterine biopsy--which sounds ultra painful. That's something I'm going to pass on. I am going to schedule a pelvic ultrasound to see if I have a polyp or something that may be bleeding...The strange thing is that I always get spotting after ovulation. I guess it's because it's before AF?? Anyway, I didn't exactly get answers from her, but I did feel better after. Anyone else get any info on the spotting? My OB did skirt the issue when I asked whether she'd seen women with spotting go on to get pregnant etc. She said that some women who spot are conceiving and miscarrying each month, but that they would get a BFP first, so that's not what's happening to me. It's all mysterious...

Hoping this is the month for some of us!

I have thought this before... so many appear to report that once they start TTC that is when they notice they start spotting. So it can be down to a few things

1: had been spotting before but only starting to notice as they start TTC

Would be too scared to stop taking it just in case.....

Itsreassuring to find that my situation is not unique and this is the first place I heard of luteul phase defect.It sounds like that is what's going on with me. Everyone is describing spotting but mine is heavier almost like a proper period without the pain. The first couple of days are spotting but then its red sometimes with clots.Then I get a full blown painful period. Got my day 21 result over phone-just got told that I had ovulated no mention of progesterone level. Going to see doc on fri-fingers crossed we can make somw progress.

I once had blood clots in the middle of the cycle as well, and it wasn't possible for me to be pregnant then, it's not that unusual. Sometimes it's left over blood from your period. I think we look for too much symptoms when we're ttc so we "feel" pregnant when we actually are not. It's better to assume the best case scenario and think that your hormone is just fluctuating over the whole thing, instead of assuming that you miscarried until you know for sure. Hope it works out well with clomid.

I don't think it's 1. I mean it's not something we can avoid noticing when we're spotting. I know my period used to be the heaviest the first day. I would still take the prenatals, because I don't think the spotting affect pregnancy or anything, so I'm not that worried, just curious whether there's an effect.

Yes--I think that the worrying over the spotting is my problem I mean, it's only since we've been TTC that I check the toilet paper every time I go to the bathroom! I may have been spotting this entire time and not known it.

Another question for you ladies: I have been charting, and I've noticed that some of my post-ovulatory temps are falling right above my cover line. I don't know if this could mean that I have low progesterone--has anyone else had this experience?

@beloved - This is the first month I've charted and thus really been able to tell when I ovulated. I spotted right after, so that probably was ovulatory bleeding (which I didn't know about until reading this book). I got that for a day or two, and now am not spotting at all. I am 7dpo, so I will see if it starts again. My cycle lengths have not been regular, so I don't know how many dpo I usually spot...I generally just count back from my period start date to see how many days I spotted. Anyway.

Glad to know so many women on here have the spotting in different varieties and that overall there's not necessarily a cause for concern!
