Pineapple?

I have heard mixed things about whether or not pineapple is good to eat while TTC, especially right around O, and was curious to get some more opinions on it. I've heard that eating the core of a pineapple is supposed to help with implantation, but maybe eating the rest of it is not (?) - something about the acidity?

trying to do my own google research on it, but my situation today is that i'm on vacation and we are just about to take a road trip to the Dole Pineapple Plantation (which I have been pretty excited for). but I am O today, and it's' our cycle #1, and I don't want to unnecessarily mess it up.

(note: I'm actually slightly allergic to pineapples - it's probably a food intolerance - so if I ate any, it wouldn't be very much anyway.)

If you're allergic I'd say skip it because your reaction could mess with your immune system and hormones and therefore effect fertility. Otherwise, I'm sure it's fine.

No dairy huh? Oops. I love milk and cheese! Why do we need to skip dairy?

Large amounts of pineapple has been known to cause uterine contractions which could bring on miscarriage but small amounts will be fine

As for the dairy debate - as we get older we lose the ability to process milk which can cause havoc with our body balance which in turn messes with fertility. In countries where milk intake is low there are much less reported cases of infertility. It is also meat which is supposed to cause a problem, we are heading to two years of ttc next month and I am taking the drastic measure of going vegan for a year to see if it helps, not looking forward to it

The hard part for me will be eggs. I like eggs and they are a quick source of protein. I also love cheese. I like to just drink milk too and I like mayonaisse!!!! I don't like yogurt but a lot of women do.....

I am slowly but surely cutting dairy completely out of my life!

Also, I heard the worst is low fat dairy because of the process of taking away the fat is not good for fertility.

Just do what you have to do ladies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's totally worth it!!!

I've heard you need to eat pineapple 1-5 dpo... The core, primarily... They say to cut the core into 5 pieces and eat 1 piece per day for those 5 days.... Are you in Hawaii??? Cool! The month i tried this, i wasnt pregnant, but it did seem like i had lots of lining like stuff in my period blood. (Eww Gross!! TMI, Sooorrrrrrrrrrrryy!!)

<<<Cute cow.

This is what i found out ....

Pineapples help with Implantation.
the pineapples core has the highest amount of an enzyme called Bromelain. This is basically a meat tenderizer for your womb lol! and breaks down certain proteins making for easier implantation.
I think it also has a blood thinning effect like the baby aspirin some ladies take, Which is why its only recommended for 5 days after Ov, as can have reverse effect with a BFP.

You should buy very ripe pineapples, and eat it in in moderation - too much can be harmful to implantation

what is also good for implantation is sunflower seeds (since u r allergic to pineapples )
Eat about two servings per day, also starting the day of or after ovulation for about five days out. There is an ingredient in the kernals that assists in implantation.

thanks everybody!

when i got there, i realized i was really just excited to see how pineapples grow, and to go in the pineapple maze and buy souvenirs. hubby and i had lunch there (burgers), which came garnished with a slice of fresh pineapple on the side. i had one bite of the pineapple slice that came with my burger, and a sip of hubby's pineapple smoothie, which was delicious (and two small bites of the pineapple ice cream that came in it). i made sure not to eat enough to give me an allergic reaction (i get a rash on my mouth, no fun). so just tiny bites. also i bought a lot of pineapple stuff to enjoy (in moderation) later - pineapple chips, pineapple salad dressing, pineapple candy, even some pineapple lotion and soap! (lol i guess i can actually use that now.)

anyway, your help was much appreciated, thanks

Wow, that sounds like so much fun! I love pineapple. I will have to visit there someday.

This may sound like a silly question but are eggs included in the no dairy category? If so, then I guess I'm out this time bc I have been eating a couple of hard-boiled eggs every day this whole month & tww.
