Agnus Castus

Good afternoon,

I'm aware that there are other posts regarding Agnus Castus but I can't seem to find any with the info im after. Came off depo in June and still no period as of yet. I have seen that people have said you should only take AC up until ovulation and then start again on 1st day of period. As I have not yet had my period should I just take it until my period arrives and then use ovulation kits to keep an eye on it? Wish I had never used Depo. Hate what it has done to my body

I am hopeful that Agnus Castus will kick start things and that I don't have to use any prescribed medications

Thanks in advance for reading this. Hope you are all having a lovely Sunday

Belle xxx

I did a lot of reading up of AC before i brought it. Everywhere I looked it said that you can keep taking AC right through your cycle but stop the second you get your BFP.

Personally, I would take the AC in either liquid or tablet form now and then when you think there is a good possibility of being preggy then stop - this is what I did.

I took the liquid form as I thought it would get into my system quicker and took 25 drops each morning and night in a tiny amount of warm water. If you going to take tablet form then you need 1600mg a day 2 x 400mg each morning and 2 x 400mg each night

For me, I took it for 10 days and then AF started and then 8 days later got my first ever EWCM.

Wishing you tons of luck hunny x

AC is great for regulating cycles. It will bring on a period if you have been anovulatory for so long. Most sources indicate that you can take it daily regardless of your cycle because it balances your hormones. It's one of the key ingredients in FertilAid for Women and they recommend you take it daily. http://www.fertilaid.com/vitexagnuscastus.asp

Also, over a year ago I had a long anovulatory cycle (73 days) and I took AC for 4 days and it brought my period on finally.

To be honest, you can take AC throughout your whole cycle, so just start now and keep taking it everyday. As soon as you get a BFP though, stop.

I have been taking AC for over a month now. I don't have regular periods. At least 5 months apart. This is ever since I came off BCP. I take AC every morning on an empty stomach. The past couple of days I have started to feel things 'happening' down there. It's kind of like the slight cramps I get before ovulation. I'm hoping in the next few days I get a +OPK. I don't take AC after I get my positive OPK as it can cause uterine contractions which you don't want if you're pregnant.
Hope this helps and hope it works for you xxx
