Should I discard my temp?

Hey girls, should I discard this morning's temp? I dropped the thermometer down the back of the bed when my alarm went off, then said 'baby, I dropped my thermometer' to my bf (to which he grunted, and I mentally kicked myself for dropping the thermometer and speaking). So then I had to reach down to grab it, and was breathing out of my mouth for a second. To make matters worse, I woke up with a blocked nose, so I think I slept with my mouth open.

Temp was 96.23 F, which is a massive drop from yesterday's 96.76. I don't think I'm ovulating yet (too early and all OPKs since yday are negative).

So what do you think? Discard?

Edit: I just switched the thermometer back on and the memory function says 98.60 F so is that the temperature I should record?

I would just record it as 96.23 and make a note of what happened. That is what I do if something is off. One odd temp is not going to throw FF off so I wouldnt worry about it. My thermometer has a memory recall too and when I turn it back on it shows the temp I last took for a couple seconds then it shows 98.6 so that is why you saw that, it is just the default.

Also I would think if anything the talking and moving around would raise your temp not lower it so this could be close to accurate for you. When I get within a few days or more of O my temps are usually lower that is due to the estrogen surge which in turn will trigger your LH surge.

I'd go with your temp. If you were moving around and spoke to your partner, it would have made your temp higher than usual.. not lower (unless you took it earlier than usual). I'd just make a note of it on ff. xx

Thank you so much for your help! I have recorded the original temp and made a note of it on FF xx

A difference from 4-7am can make a HUGE difference in your chart. 30minutes can make a .1 degree difference! If I were you, I'd set your alarm at 4am each morning, and if you don't have to wake up so early- go back to sleep It will make it so much easier to read and understand. Lots of baby dust xx

I know, hon, but the earliest I get up for work is 4am, so that would mean I have to get to bed by 1am every day. Hopefully this works for me, if not, I'll have to force myself to go bed by 1am every day, LOL x
