Hi Dinky. I started testing from
CD10 at around 2 pm. Started getting darker cd12 but never become positive. I think because I had a fever and chest infection. It finally become positive CD21-22 and ov CD24 as shown on my chart

each person is different and each cycle might be slightly different

i use a fertility calendar like www.countdowntopregnancy.com to give me a "rough" idea on when im due to ov and then start using OPK's a few days before then just in case I ov early

As soon as i get a faint line, i use OPK;s twice a day however, i chart my temps which is the only real way of knowing if/when you ov

All an OPK will tell you is that you have an LH surge, but it doesnt confirm the egg dropping

In my last cycle all my calendars said i was due to ov around 25th jan but i noticed my temps drop on 8th jan so i used an opk and got an "almost" line and on 9th jan got a + opk which was 16 days earlier than ov was due!

if your not going to temp i would suggest using OPKs until you see a faint line and then test twice a day - mid afternoon and evening is best for LH not with morning urine

My cycle is really regular at 28 days so I always start around cd10 just in case I do O a little early, I don't usually get a +opk until cd13. I only use one a day around 1:30 pm.

I am temping! I started a few days ago although im thinking of packing it in already because ever since i started my dd is getting up through the night, like tonight she cried for about half hour so i put her in bed with me and oh, then she wouldnt stop talking to herself (wide awake) so i changed her nappy and put her back in her cot. Again she wouldnt stop crying so left her half an hour to cry herself to sleep but didnt happen. She just wont go to sleep!! Its nearly 3.30am and im now sat watching tele with her while shes happily playing away i dont see the point in doing it if i can get atleast 3 hours good sleep. Didnt even bother to take it yesterday morning because i was up all night! Rant over lol x

I usually start on CD8 but that is because I have been tracking for several cycles so I know that I usually get a positive OPK on CD10. I have found the best thing to do is to start with the internet cheapies and then as the lines begin to get darker and almost equal to each other in darkness, that is when I confirm it with Clear Blue Easy Digitals because those (the smiley face ones) seem to be the most accurate and they are definitely the easiest to use.

But the digitals are expensive and that is why I mostly use the other ones first.

Sorry about the situation with your DD and the frustrating temping issues. I hope she finally falls asleep soon so you can get some sleep, too.

Aww dinky try to do the best you can with temping. You can always use a bbt adjuster of you can't take your temp at tw same time everyday just to get a rough idea?

Babyhopes4me I'm also 5dpo, when do you reckon you will test? Would love to know whether you get your this month

This is my first cycle using OPK's and I have not been successful yet on getting a positive. It is most frustrating!!! I am irregular as my cycle days range from CD 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33. The past two cycles AF came on CD 33 and CD 31. So I should start seeing the line getting a bit darker now, right? There is a very faint line but that is it. Hasn't changed in 4 days.
