Trouble conceiving after cerazette?

Does anyone else have any experience of trying to conceive and finding it difficult after coming off cerazette? I'm a good few months along now in ttc and wondering if it's me or the cerazette after taking it 5 years before stopping last march.

Same as me!

Hi - I did a search for people TTC after cerazette and your post is exactly what I was wondering.
I came off Cerazette about a year ago. I conceived in Sept last year, but miscarried at 6 weeks (chemical pregnancy). I find that the problem with TTC after being on the pill for a really long time is periods take ages to become remotely regular. Mine are sometimes 28 days, 20 days, 31 days. Makes it difficult to know when to test and when you're fertile. How long have you been TTC? According to cerazette - it should be approx 6 months to a year before you can reasonably consider TTC.

Keep me posted and good luck. I think you (and me both) just have to keep trying! x

This month is about our 6th, I took 8 weeks to have an af following cerazette then had three months of 29 days, 3 months of 30 days and back to 29 last month, looks like a 35 day this month, getting so hacked off now with just waiting and waiting!

Yep - I know it's a real pain in the arse! Maybe try the fertility kits? Might be worth a try. It took mine ages to sort itself out and even now, when I thought I'd got the 28 day cycle sorted, it went mental again. I think it will just take time. I was on cerazette for 8 years without a break and I'm nearly back to normal now. Maybe in a month or two, you will be sorted. Keep a diary of periods, cramps, CM and stuff - so you can check if a pattern is emerging. Good luck!! x

Hi, you sound similar to me I have been on cerazette for years, thinking about starting to try for first baby, when you say it took ages to sort itself out and you are nearly back to normal, actually how long has it taken for you to get back to normal??? I understand everyone is different, my worry is myself and my husband after 4 years of marriage decided to start trying in june 2012 after we have both been on a hen and stag do, but now I have started reading all these forums about issues with conceiving after cerazette I am starting to worry, I wouldnt be bothered if I was pregnant whilst on the hen do in june I just didnt want to have horrible periods whilst on hen do as going to marrakech!!! didnt fancy being flooded after years of not having any periods at all, and altho we agreed for me to stop my pill as soon as I return from hen do in early june I am now wondering if I should come off it now seeing as tho i am reading loads of ppl who are saying it takes ages to conceive after cerazette. Do I risk having a horrible period in june and come off now or stick to our plan but then if its as hard as I have read am I only delaying conceiving even more? Any advice very grateful!!!
