Fertile CM - Negative OPK

Hi ladies!

Just a quick question this is my first month using OPK's and I started testing once a day from CD13 usually in the evening. They have all been negative.

So the last couple of days my CM seems very fertile, thin stretchy EWCM and today I had massive globs of thick but very stretchy CM with streaks of bright yellow to it. I've read this can be very fertile CM but my OPK's are still negative??

Since noticing the fertile CM I have started to test twice a day with my opk's, mid day and late evening, yesterday they looked to be getting darker but still not positive and then today the line is fainter.

Confused and running out of opks! Is there anyone else who struggles to get a positive opk or am I reading the signs wrong?

to all xx

Looking at my ticker, I actually started with OPK's on CD10 not 13. So don't think i've missed it, just confused by the CM. Will BD just incase but for future cycles, I am curious if OPK's are really any good.

I usually get my positive on cd9-10 but I have short cycles of 25 days when you get your positive opk all depends on the length of your cycle.
I get ewcm about 2days before my pos opk so just keep going

Fertile cm can start to happen up to 5 days before actual ovulation.
Some women dont actualy get the equaly dark line on opks, I never did.
Personaly I would say do it every other day from the start of fertile cm

I feel like such a goof and I hope this isnt TMI but, reading this prompted me to try to check my CM ( I had no idea what it was before this thread ).. I can't even fit two fingers up there.

Is there a comfortable position to try it? I tried laying on my back, and it hurt.

Hiya hun, the best way to check for cm is sitting on the toilet but make sure your hands are clean! Especially when TTC as you don't want anything to get in the way of BD'ing. I usually use my middle finger, no need for anymore than one and feel for my cervix, then I just sort of wipe gently around that area and see what comes out on my finger. When really fertile you should be getting some on the toilet roll too, if you don't like the invasive way of doing it.

Good luck xx

Same thing regarding the negative opks...
Been testing every day, twice a day and got negatives althought they did get darker but are now lighter. Worried i missed surge but been off work this week and testing very regularly and last cycle my positives lasted for 5 days so confused at how I can miss it.

My cm has also been lotiony which apperently means I will o soon.
My cycles are 6 weeks long so gutted we missed the chance this cycle...it's a long wait until we can start again
