I bleed and spot so much - does anyone else?

Really worried I can't even use OPK as I bleed at random times! Been off pill nearly 3 months is this normal?

I had a lot of bleeding (A LOT) and spotting for years and it was from not ovulating due to PCOS. Your hormones could still be off due to the pill, but it would be worth it to have your insulin levels checked. After about 6 months of Metformin and a round of Provera, I have stopped the bad bleeding. My cycles still aren't regular but I ovulated in Dec and Jan and haven't had any of the bad bleeding since October when I started the Provera.

I get this too and am going to the Dr next week so will let you know what she says.

Do you know if you ovulate? Also what were you like before the pill?

Thanks for reply. I've been on the pill for 10 years but never spotted before I went on - had a regular 30-32 day cycle. Doc says I have to wait till I've been off pill 6 months then they will do a blood test. I used an OPK for the first time last month, once a day for 7 days without a positive, but then I got my period a week later so would have been the wrong time anyway. I should have told her I came off it earlier, 3 months to wait to find out if there's a problem!

Thanks for reply. I do see that you're a Mummy though so not all hope lost for me I hope? I did have a 30-32 day cycle for6 years before I went on pill.

No not all hope is lost! Lots of women conceive with PCOS. I think I've had it for years. I started my "bad" bleeding right away at 14 and was on the pill til 21. Took almost exactly 2 years of NTNP to conceive my son. After him, all my issues got worse, and finally about a year ago I got diagnosed with PCOS and started Metformin. I haven't had insurance in about 4 years so that's made my road a little harder. If I'd been diagnosed with the PCOS as a teenager instead of just getting put on the pill, maybe this all wouldn't have been so hard. Hopefully yours is just some wacky hormones from getting off the pill though. If not, I'd definitely get tests run for PCOS just to be safe.
