Help needed for wannabe BBT

I'm currently using the CBFM but would like to do it in conjunction with BBT to know when/if I ovulate after my peak readings but I've no idea really on how to do it.

I have got a BBT thermometer and know that temp should be taken every morning upon waking.

But when in the cycle is it best to start.
How do I go about charting the readings/ and reading results.
What exact changes should I look for in readings

Any help really appreciated - even if it's to direct me to a good web-link!
Thanks!!!

Start whenever you have everything ready. There are lots of apps for entering data, or you can write it down and enter it into FertilityFriend.com. You want to look for the jump in temperature after you ovulate. For some people, it's very clear to see ovulation (mine was really good), others there's more fluctuation. FF have software that helps you pinpoint your O date, and worse come to worse, people here can help you interprete. Good luck, I think you may find temping gives you more concrete information about your cycle. I'm glad I started temping, wish I had done it sooner.

I also find temping... Time friendly & convenient. Less annoying than taking pee tests in the middle of the work day. I also know I'm doing temping right but I wonder about saliva tests.

hi i use both! ok so which cycle day are you on? id start now, so you want to be taking your temperature at the same time each day, keep it beside you so before you do anything you can pop it strait in your mouth and try not to move around too much, ideally after 3 solid hours of sleep. if you join fertility friend all you have to do is input temps every morning and itll work it all out for you! very easy as opposed to trying to read ones you do yourself. so how my cycles usually work is i get all low temps which coinceide with lows/highs on cbfm. first peak day i get ov pain, no major temp change, second peak i get slight temp dip and actual ov occurs, following high day i get temp spike which shows ov occurred previos day. so temping wont tell you if you have actually ovulated until the day after it happens when you get a spike, and temps should stay high for at least 3 days for fertility friend to put in crosshairs and show it has happened, if pregnancy occurs temps will stay high if not they either gradually drop or in my case rapidly drop the day before af, hope this helps and makes sence! lol. remember its not all that important to read the actual temperature its the pattern that matters and it will give a good indication of what to expect the following months to catch that egg! good luck x

Thanks a million Chicky - I'm about 2 dpo today (going from 1 DPO being high reading after 2 peaks), so is it worth it to start temping now? It wounldn't tell much. What do you think?
Will I wait for start of next cycle (but hoping it won't come!)
