Once the OPK gets lighter. has OV happened and its too late to BD?

That is my question, if for example last night it was + and this morning its negative, does that mean ovulation has happened? We BD Tuesday night, and then this morning, but now I have seen the negative stick I wonder if this morning's effort was in vain. I have heard that the egg stays around for 24 hours, is this time included when the OPK gets lighter? Thank you XXX

The surge is over...after you get a +opk you should ovulate 12-36 hours later.

I understand the surge is over, but I don't understand if that means that once it goes negative you can still fertilize the egg or not? XXX

Yes, as long as you have some spermies waiting for the egg once it's released. If you BD'd Tuesday and this morning you should be good to go!

If your surge was yesterday then ovulation day would most likely be today or tomorrow and after ovulation you still have another 24-48 hours the egg can be fertilized. so your still in for a chance.
