TTC and waiting results on PCO

Hi everyone.

Firstly, thank goodness I found this forum as reading everyone else's posts has made me feel 'normal'! (Hi I'm babydoll and I break open all pregnancy tests and regularly obsess over cm!)

We've been ttc for 8 months after coming off the pill last June. After 6 months of 38 day cycles, finally got back to normal and had 2 months of 29 day cycles so thought baby might be on the horizon.

However, after last trip to doctor he mentioned pco and said I'm showing lots of symptoms (im only size 8 but still have acne at 28, hairy arms for a girl (!) And every other month get intense pain on ny right hand side, made worse by intercourse).

Had a blood test on Wednesday and thought nothing of it, but on ringing for results I have to book an appointment to 'discuss'. AF is due on Monday so hoped it might be good news as I have been having back ache and cramps since Thursday, but I'm now cd27 with no other symptoms and got a bfn on clear blue so my initial optimism has fully drained.

I guess I have two questions:

Am I kidding myself still hoping for a good result Monday if back ache is my only symptom (dont normally get this)

And if it is bad news from the doctor, how is pco likely to affect our chances of conceiving naturally? Have read so many different articles and they all involve taking medication to conceive. Has anyone just got a bfp after being diagnosed and if so, how long did it take you? I'm so desperate to be a mummy

why isn't babydust available in supermarkets!? x

P.s. scan for pco booked for 16/04

I have PCO and it took me 9 months to conceive, but we did conceive naturally, I'm now almost six weeks gone, my doctor said as long as I ovulate, I have a good chance of getting pregnant naturally and so I did! Good luck to you xxx

I'm ALSO awaiting results for PCO! Not because the doc thinks there's a risk - in fact, just the opposite - but I've pushed for every blood test under the sun, because after nearly 7 1/2 months off bcp, AF STILL hasn't shown and the doc seems unconcerned.

That's despite having all hormone level blood tests come back normal and scans normal too, apart from my right ovary being covered in small cysts (left is normal). I have a specialist appointment this Wednesday, but I didn't want to waste the specialist appointment having blood tests done for something that the doc could just order BEFORE the appointment! So I'm waiting for my results and the specialist appointment on Wednesday - so we're all in the same boat... it's so nice to come on here and know that you have support straight away and to know that you're not the only one going through it!

Update us after your appointment! And chin up... it's not always as bad as our imaginations lead us to think it is!

Hey!
I was diagnosed with pco last september! My doctor took so many blood tests and said its basically confirmed because i have over 4 times the amount of this male type hormone than i should have! Lol! But she sent me for an ultrasound to confirm it.. Im not overweight, i have slight acne but i think thats because i have to wax my jawline because of the slight beard i grow because of it lol.. Im quite hairy for a girl

I been TTC since we found out, not as dedicated because we dont live together yet as im gettin married on May 19th lol but we thought we would stop trying to prevent pregnancy and so far no luck (although i have been getting funny symptoms this month but 5 bfn's) i have promised myself not to turn to medication for a least 8 months after i get married

But good luck everyone!! And congrats to Katherinegrey! You just gave me hope!

Hello Ladies!
Just thought id join in as Ive read all of your posts and im very similar!
I stopped the pill last July so Ive been trying 9 months at the end of this month!
Ive alway had very irregular periods and acne which I never thought anything of until I started TTC!
I went to the Drs and she said I would have to wait a year! However, I went back to my old Dr and he sent me for Blood Tests I had to go and see him for the results and I have too much testosterone! He said that I might have PCOS! Even though I dont have some of the other symptoms! Anyhoo the lady doing my ultrasound scan and my internal scan told me a bit but I went back to Drs for results and he said it showed either increased or enlarged follicles something like that anyway which probably indicates that I have PCOS! There was a mix up for my hubbys Sperm Analysis, so still waiting on that, as he wrote the wrong name down to refer! But he said Id probz have to wait a year and a half to get referred if nothing has happened by then? Unless theres a problem with my Hubby which might mean that we get referred sooner?
But all I was told was to keep trying and having sex every 2-3 days!
Im currently on CD41 with no AF! Been for my other smear today as I also have abnormal cells!
Its driving me crazy as I feel so useless!
Im 24 so he said its still young enough to conceive naturally in the longer timescale!
I hope this helps?
Ive just started taking Agnus Cactus tho to see if it helps my cycles?
As I have no idea when im due or even if im late and testing to get negatives all of the time is really depressing! I just hope that im ovulating and have a chance!
Good Luck and Loadsa Baby Dust! Congrats to those of you that have been successful!
xox
