I've opted out twice when flying back from the US to Canada. Both times at Logan Airport in Boston.

The first time they were sweet as pie with the 'oh we have an opt out' and the lady didn't even come up between my legs fully, I was wearing a skirt.

The second time I had to wait 10 mins for a free lady to come to pat me down and then patronize me about the 'you'll get as much radiation after being on a plane for 2 mins'... So I smiled and said... I understand completely, that's why I don't want any more than I have to... and they banned these machines in Europe because they can't be properly calibrated'. So says the article I read before I flew the last time.

Anyway the second time it was worse because I was really sick (vomiting before security sick) so I needed to suck on peppermints to keep from getting sick in line... it was just after New Years. They made me empty my pockets but I wasn't allowed to have my candy until everything was complete. Even when I said I was ill.

I'm sure I looked super threatening in my Smurfs tshirt and wild curly hair.

Anyway. Preggers or no, I will opt out. We have that right. And I'll exercise that right until I can't.

Also, got a way worse pat down going into a rave a few years ago... At least at TSA they don't go up under your bra!
