ttc after coming off pill

Hi,
i am all new to this.:-)
i stop taking my pill in january i had been on it for 3 years, my period is now back to normal.
i have been using ovulation strips and had 2lines yesterday.
what are the chances of me getting pregnant this month? or does it take longer when coming off the pilll.
need some advice please any 1 who has been on pilll
also how long did it take everyone else ttc after coming off pill

Hi Sarah, welcome to BnB!
All I can say is that there's no definite answer to how long it takes to conceive after being on the pill. I was on the pill for just over 6 years, came off it last September to TTC and still no BFP!! I know it's easier said than done, but just try and relax and enjoy being with your OH whilst it's just the 2 of you, because stressing about it definitely doesn't help! Hey, I came off the pill on 19th feb and got my BFP 23rd march so its definitely possible to get pregnant soon after! Good luck x

I ovulated fairly regularly after the pill (see signature below). Remember 2 lines doesn't mean positive with opk, the test line must be at least as dark as the control line.

I just quit Yaz in March, and I'm TTCing now for the first cycle (it started in March, didn't O til CD25, April 7). I have very long cycles due to Yaz. I found Vitex helped with that - you might want to look into trying that out. JUST DON'T TAKE IT WHILE PREGNANT! NOT SAFE!

My cousin got pregnant while TAKING BC tho she missed 3 pills in a row, and she had been on it for over 2 years. She also just had a baby from another birth control mishap (forgot 2 + pills), and she's been on it for 5 years at that time.

My other cousin just had a baby and she had been on Depo shots for years - dunno how long it took her, but she did eventually successfully give birth to a baby boy!

Some people stop taking BC and get preggers right away, for others, it takes awhile for your body to regulate hormones again. I'm hoping I'm in that lucky 5% who gets pregnant right away, and I've had some positive signs, but I won't know until I miss my period.

theres really no answer, some people get pregnant by missing one pill, some dont return to full fertility for 12-18months.

its different for everyone!

Hi, I fell pregnant with DS just after stopping pill. We thought it would take ages, and we're prepared for that, but luckily I never even got a period. We got pregnant straight away. Now he's 2.5yrs and we're trying for another. Just came off pill again. I don't think we've been as lucky this time though. Had terrible cramps before and around the time I thought I was ovulating (didn't use OPK's). Think it may have been my body's reaction to coming off pill. Feels totally different so I'm not getting hopes up. I hope we both have some good luck, I'm so impatient!!

Seems like when you come off the pill you either get lucky with a BFP or you have trouble... I came off BCP September last year and it took 90 days for Af to come back! So really messed with my cycles... They are still stuffed with the last one being 46 days long... It's now 6 months without a BFP... Goodluck with your BFP hun xxx

Did you get any weird symptoms or side effects coming off the pill Mrs Bee? I've been reading a bit, but I don't think my body knows what is normal anymore!
