Luteal Phase Question

Hi guys,

Just wondering if anyone can tell me whether your luteal phase length would be irregular after coming of BCP? I know BCP can cause periods to be a bit crazy for a while but wasnt sure whether this was just in regard to ovulation. The reason I ask is that my last LP was 11, the one before was 9 days..

Thanks so much!!

N

hi ive been off birth control for 6 months and my lp started off at 11 days, then 10 and last cycle was 9 starting to get concerned myself about this . my cycle lengths were exactly 28 days every month while on the pill and since stopping first month was 29 days then a couple were 31 and last 3 cycles have been 35 days, so i dont even ovulate till cd 26 now can this really result in pregnancy??? good luck to you x

There are a few things that can alter your LP it needs to be longer than 10 days for successful pregnancy I would try taking vitamin B6 that can help or a pre natal multi vitamin.
It is great that it was a bit longer this cycle did you confirm ovulation with opk's and bbt if not you may have ovulated earlier than you thought making your LP seem shorter.

Thanks for your reply wanabeamama! I actually have been taking B6 this past cycle. I had a progesterone test 7dpo and it came back as normal so I am a bit puzzled with what is going on?!

I have been doing both OPK's and BBT and they both put me at the same O time...

My cycles have been crazy after BCP (stopped in Sept 2011) first cycle, 28 days, then 66, 35, 44, then this past was 51 with O on day 39. Which is why I thought my luteal phase might be messed up also...

Oh this is just so hard! Booked in to see the doc so might know more on Friday hopefully!!

Thanks so much for the reply!

Mel, I am having the exact same issues after BCP. I have been off BCP for 7 months and am yet to get my normal cycle back. There are lots of ladies who conceive with O later in their cycle but maybe try B6 to increase the length of your LP?

i am in the same boat, cycles everywhere i think i am going to try agnus castus to help me become regular again. Not sure about the luteal phase as mine seems to be alot longer than it should be (like maybe 2 or 3 weeks) weird hey!
