Anyone taken Provera when ttc?

My doctor said that she will prescribe me provera of I don't get my period in the next couple of weeks. Its been a few months since I've stopped breastfeeding and there is no sign of AF. has anyone taken provera? Did it reset your cycles after you took them? Did you ovulate on your own after taking them? I use to have fairly regular cycles and ovulate on my own before getting pregnant.

by what i understand it is supposed to reset your cycles... i have taken it once, and it did bring on my period, but i havent had one since and its been 88 days so far. I am having issues since coming off bc.
