Trying again straight away

I had a D&C last week at 9 weeks.

I'm wanting to try again right away and I've heard that women can be very fertile right after a loss. Is that true?

I'm wondering if the fact that I'm still breastfeeding my 11 month old will have an impact on this. Maybe it will trick my body into thinking I had a baby and am feeding it so I won't get my cycle back for a few months like after a birth.

Also, I wrote this on another thread but maybe there's more traffic here, I'm Rhesus negative and got the Anti-D shot after the D&C. Does anyone know if that affects when I'll be able to get pregnant again or if there are any risks associated with getting pregnant before the coombs test is negative?

Hi Elisheva,
Yes it's true after a loss we are supposed to be extremely fertile. I started a blog after I lost my son to stillbirth, and I just created a post to try and help other women become pregnant after a loss.

If you try the above for 3 months and don't become pregnant, I'd consider speaking with a high risk OBGYN in your area.

Have you had any testing done to see what has caused your pregnancy loss?

If I don't hear back from you, hopefully it's because you're already pregnant and on your way! Best of Luck!
