AF after ectopic

Hi Ladies, I had surgery to remove my left tube after an ectopic on the 16/11/11. My AF still hasnt arrived. I had really dark OPK for 3 days last week so would that mean my AF should come in about a weeks time?

Also, anyone else who's had an ectopic-when did you start trying again? I want to try after 1 AF but want to make sure my body is ready physically and maybe this is a bit early? xx

Girl, I am trying now! lol Only after 13 days since the laparoscopic procedure I've had done to remove the pregnancy and my left tube. We had sex last night actually and I took an OPK around 11:30 pm last night just for kicks and was surprised to see it was almost positive. Took another one this morning (around 0500 am) and the line is a bit darker. God, I hope that means I'm about to ovulate and my AF can return or I can get pregnant again.

I do sometimes think that we are trying too early, but my doctor told me I can start TTC whenever. I don't even want to wait for 1 AF. Screw that lol. Good luck!

I had my surgery to remove my ectopic and right tube 10 days ago and already had a period. It started as dark then turned bright red for a couple days, so Im assuming that was it. My doctor told me to wait 4 weeks to have sex again, but I don't think I can wait that long! I don't feel much pain in my abdominal area, so would that be safe to assume its ok?

Hi

I had an ectopic pregnancy and a laparoscopy - I had my right tube removed.

My doctor told me to wait 3 months so i'm emotionally and physically ready but that seems too long! The leaflet they gave me regarding the operation said you can have sexual intercourse as long as the bleeding has stopped.

My only concern is if there is a medical reason why we shouldn't try - like is there a danger to the pregnancy if we start too soon? Any views?

I know this thread was started quite a while ago so how are you getting on? It seemed so appropriate that I comment though as I'm in the same situation and am also very confused as to what is best!! xx

Hello alice, I think your doctor is just covering his/her bases about the three month deal. I think it's a cover blanket. But I am not your doctor and I have not treated you, so try to trust them. Saying that, you know your body more than anyone. If you didn't get the shot, and you feel emotionally and physically ready, I say go for it. I don't know if there's any danger to a future pregnancy so soon after, but I'll lean towards no.

I'm pregnant now. It took one cycle and one tube for it to happen. I'm almost 6 weeks, and saw the gestational sac and yolk sac a few days ago in the right place this time. We are thoroughly pleased. So it can definitely happen. I tried SMEP, Fertility Blend for Women, I took my prenatal vitamins, and I've used Preseed.

I wish you all the best, and I am so sorry for your loss.

I'm sorry for all of your losses. Having the ectopic was extremely difficult and heart breaking.

Hi

Thank you so much, it is so lovely to hear from people who have been through the same situation.

A big congratulations to you, I am very happy for you and its lovely to hear success stories! It can be so scary to think I only have one tube so thank you for sharing.

I'm due a 2 week checkup on Monday so I think I will mention I want to try sooner and see if they have any major concerns. I did not have the shot so I can't see why I need to wait tat long.

Thanks again x
