What happens first Ovulation or Af?

What happens after your hcg levels return to normal ? Does your period return or do you ovulate first ? My understanding was that a period was set off by ovulation ? I am SO close to 0 now FINALLY ! I think by the time i'm 11 weeks post d&c I will be back to under 5 ! I had some dark brown bleeding/discharge a week ago that last for around 4 days accompanied with really bad pain but I don't think it was AF as it was never red bleeding just dark brown and my hcg level was at 12 two days ago. Any experiences or info would be fab I am just so confused !

I was told that af will come when you are near 0. This however will not be a true af it is your body telling itself to start a new cycle. Then you will begin a cycle, ovulate and then have a true af. I am waiting now for my levels to go down almost near 0 and then "fake" af. Also I have been reading that it may take awhile to O, or get your af as our cycles may change. Hope this helps!

Last Wednesday (25th) they were at 38, They were 37000 when the baby was healthy, exactly 3 weeks later my levels were 38. I go back tomorrow to see if they are close.

Well my level was at a 5 and I have one follie on my good side. I still have some small tissue left in there or maybe a polyp. Either way they do not want me to try until I get my period from this cycle.

Actually ovulation comes first, after ovulation if not fertilized the homrones signal for AF.....with out the hormones that make you O you dont get AF. So once hcg is zero you will O then two weeks later you will have af
